twittering
Sep. 14th, 2008 10:30 pmI've been twittering a lot lately and it's not because I don't really have anything else to do with my life... well, okay, it is kind of that I don't have anything else to do with my life. Honestly, I'm finding that Twitter is just easier to use for updates and whatnot and I will try to keep the conversational chatting to a minimum, but I just like the sort of instant update that Twitter offers. There are still real thoughts in my head, I promise; I'm just too lazy to write them out.
Originally, I'd cut my tweets because that's how they were showing up on my other friends' journals and I thought it would be polite to do the same. I've even seen some people be a bit snippy about uncut twitter feeds to the LJ.
Why is that? Why are Twitter feeds directly to LJ more annoying than embedded video, memes, daily lists that are handcoded, or long paragraphs of stuff? I'm sure it's not really -- that it's just the latest thing for people to be annoyed at.
Anyway. So what am I on about? I'm going to stop lj-cutting my LoudTwitter feeds. A few of my friends have told me that they want to read my tweets, but can't be bothered to make the extra effort to click the cut tag.
So, this is for the convenience of my friends who want to read, but are too lazy to click and since I'm too lazy to write out a real post, who am I to comment on their laziness?
Apologies to people who hate uncut tweets. Honestly, they're usually short entries and you can blow past them as easily as any other. Or, feel free to comment about your dislike for uncut tweets.
