work; shopping; dvds omg
Jan. 18th, 2007 09:05 pmTook mom to the airport at 6am. She's off to Taiwan for three weeks. Eeep! I don't wanna be in charge....
Work today was weird. We had to stop everything for like two hours because something happened to the company's lines in Canada. Then I did all my normal work before I got to the fun and exciting (no, really) task of folding letters and stuffing envelopes. On the plus side, because I got to work an hour early, I got to leave at 3:30. Rawk.
After work I headed to the mall where I... got my haircut! Finally. I think it's been like 6 months, maybe longer? Stopped in at Tullio and was assigned a random hairdresser -- Sam -- who asked me what exactly I wanted. I explained. He did the cut... and then spent 20 minutes blow drying me hair because i had sort of mentioned off hand that I liked the ends of my hair to flip out rather than curl in. Blah. Anyway...

Uhm, actually, before the haircut, I stopped into the Shoe Supermarket to see if they still have Converse All Stars on sale.. which they did. And they had one last pair of size 4s!

They are awesome. And they fit great! I might need to put one of those cushions in the bottom because they are so flat, but... we'll see. I'm excited! XD
I was waiting around for
queenmaab to get out of work and meet me at the mall so I... erm.. headed in to Best Buy. I remembered that they had Roswell season 2 on sale for $20, and I did kinda like that season so I figured, why not? Yeah... well... I walked right past a large stack of Doctor Who Season 2 (or 28....) DVDs. There was shiny, shiny lenticular postcard on the front!! I... I picked it up to look at it and read the back and somehow it ended up at the register with me -_-;;
Yes. I am WEAK. And poorer, but at least it's on a credit card :x I can pay it back slowly. And I own Doctor Who! zomgYAYs!!
Then I ended up in FYE to see if I could pick out anything to spend the rest of my gift certificate on. Was thinking Duncan Sheik's White Limousine or Best of ELO. I dunno. Was thinking it over when
queenmaab called and saved me from more spending :-P
We wandered around the mall in search of a party dress. Stopped at the food court for dinner. Then searched some more. Fruitless, I'd say it was. :\
OMG. I spent so much money today. *facepalm* Thankfully I still had a bit of last paycheck left and I am getting pid next week. :x Looks like I'm gonna have to hold off on buying black BDUs and tactical boots for my costume for another week or so. Ooops.
Just saw Stephen Colbert on The O'Reilly Factor. Hm. I'm sort of underwhelmed. It wasn't nearly as interesting as I thought it would be. perhaps O'Reilly on The Colbert Report wil be more interesting, but I now somehow doubt it.

LOVE THE HAIR!!!
Date: 2007-01-19 02:23 am (UTC)Hey, I doubt he's still there but there used to be a guy at tullios at crossgates (the one closer to best buy) named Stacey. Hot hot hot gay guy in tight white shirt and black pants and built. Anyway, he could also do a great haircut, so you could check him out (in more ways than one) next time you go . . .
gotta run for now
Hope all is well!

Re: LOVE THE HAIR!!!
Date: 2007-01-19 02:28 am (UTC)Thanks! It'll be interesting to see what it looks like after it's been washed and dried again because I can tell you right now that I am not spending that much time blow drying my hair :-P I think he cut some really excellent layers though.
The Tullio upstairs is the one I went to :) I always seem to just pick a random hairdresser. They're usually pretty good there and it only cost me $25. I dn't know if Stacey still works there. Next time I'm there (another 6 months...?) I'll inquire.

Date: 2007-01-19 05:40 am (UTC)Well... it's a Converse size 4. I really wear a 6.5 - 7, but Converse only uses men's sizes, plus they run large, so... my feet aren't really that small ;)

Date: 2007-01-19 02:09 pm (UTC)I think I should actually wear a 5 in mens, but Converse shoes run kind of large. It's a good thing I tried them on in the store and didn't just order them online -- they would've been huge!

Date: 2007-01-22 01:50 am (UTC)yeah, that would have sucked!

Date: 2007-01-19 04:21 pm (UTC)And I went into the mall the week after Xmas to see if I could unload the Hot Topic gift certificate my sister had given me for my birthday and was delighted to discover they had Converse Chucks, so I wound up using my gift card and a 15% off card to get a black and white pair for only $16. They have rainbow stars on the inside of the shoe fabric and on the sides, and the sole stripe is turquoise blue, but aside from that they look just like Ten's, so I was thrilled. (And wished I'd known they sold Chucks at Hot Topic, or I'd have gone before Xmas when they were having the massive shoe sale which cleared out so much of their stock, so that I was damned lucky to find a pair that was only a size too large for me.)
