Sonuva bitch.
Sep. 7th, 2002 01:54 amI was watching "Lord of the Rings", minding my own business when my brother calls me. He's at the SciFi Farscape chat where Froon, DK, and Ben Browder have just dumped the news that Farscape has been cancelled. After the final 11 episodes of season 4, it will be no more!
[10:03] Where do we stand?
[10:04] We are two days away from shooting the last scenes
[10:04] of season 4.
[10:04] As you know, Sci Fi has picked us up
[10:04] for 4th and 5th seasons.
[10:04] However, as with everything done at a
[10:04] corporate level,
[10:05] there was an out clause built into Sci Fi's
[10:05] pickup schedule.
[10:05] As of yesterday, we were informed --
[10:05] after massive efforts by everyone at Henson
[10:05] and working on the show --
[10:05] most importantly Brian Henson
[10:05] and the 3 gentlemen
[10:05] here
[10:06] that Sci Fi was not going to exercise it's
[10:06] option to pick up the 5th season of Farscape.
[10:06] The rumors that everyone has been calling me
[10:06] about are sadly
[10:06] very sadly true.
[10:06] Tuesday will be the last time Ben dons the uniform
[10:06] of Commander John Crichton.
[10:06] We are all hugely sad.
[10:07] I am shaking as I write this.
[10:07] Yesterday, we all cried on the set.
[10:07] Yet, as we are, at the end of the line
[10:07] so to speak
[10:07] being just the people who make the show
[10:07] and not the corporate entities that fund and air it
[10:07] we are as helpless as anyone.
What the flying fuck?! SciFi has got to have the dumbest programming directors out there! What other show has gotten better ratings and a larger following than Farscape? They already cancelled I-Man because it wasn't "cost effective." Jaysus, why don't you just shut down the station while you're at it.

[10:31] Volume and speed. Dissappointment is better than anger.
[10:31] Remember that furious people
[10:32] no misspellings, no obscenities
[10:33] be civilised
Ben says civilised, so I will try to be civilised.... or not.
Damn you, SciFi!! Damn you dirty bastards!
