GAH! BPAL posted their new Halloween scents last night and I was tempted by the Pumpkin Patch. Honestly, though, none of those notes work on me, so I was about to ditch when I noticed the Steamworks section! No. 93 Engine and Ether sound rather interesting. Then I poked around the rest of the catalog and I like the sound of The Unicorn and Mouse's Long Sad Tale, as well as Jack, but I don't know if I want to smell like pumpkin pie and peaches.

Actually got up and worked on one of my commissions this morning. I really like the way this one is coming together. Hopefully the client likes it as well. His music is fun and cheery and I'm hoping the site conveys that. Anyway, it was pretty fun. That other commission, though. Oy. I don't know what I'm going to do about that one. Suppose I should actually get started on it.

Crazy day...

Got up at 9am so I could go out and rake the lawn for the pick up on Monday. I ended up putting up my wall shelf beforehand. Got most of my action figures set up there, including the Doctor, Rose and Martha. So, right. Raking with the family. Then gave the dog a bath before getting myself a shower and running off to Target to pick up some things.

[livejournal.com profile] coffeedanger (who is now on LJ. yay!) came over about 1pm to hang out. Uh, basically we just sat around and used the internets. I was able to put in about 2/3 of the stack of DVDs I've been needing to put into my database. We tried to watch an Eddie Izzard DVD, but both of us were only half paying attention and I find I can't really follow the routine that way.. so I put in "A Dog's Breakfast," which I loooove. I wasn't sure what [livejournal.com profile] coffeedanger thought of it... but at least she thought it was better than what she expected an indie film to be.. I think.

Dinner was fire pot (or hot pot or steamboat, apparently). [livejournal.com profile] katkel and [livejournal.com profile] sweetwildandmad also showed up for dinner and brought yummy cookies. I think it went all right XD It's sort of a fun dinner thing. Very weird if you've never had it before... or if you don't like fish or lamb or beef or shrimp or vegetables because everything gets cooked together XD

After dinner, we just hung out and chatted. [livejournal.com profile] seijitataki and [livejournal.com profile] sweetwildandmad talked about gaming things. I showed [livejournal.com profile] katkel how to fold lucky stars. Got [livejournal.com profile] coffeedanger on to LJ.

Right before people started to pack up and head out, I put in the new Doctor Who Children in Need episode that was on recently. Very funny. I love the fanboying and the celery comment and of course, "you don't need them, you just think they make you look clever." HA!

Found a new BPAL sheet which seems a bit easier to manage than the old one I'd been using. This one seems to be updated much more frequently and integrating the updates into the list is way easier I think, especially since the updates are listed in a tab. So. Yeah.

Now I'm watching Dinner Impossible and then probably going to bed.

Edit: And now I'm watching Ace of Cakes and this is the second time I've seen Mary Alice in a Threadless shirt. Last time she had the "There, Their, They're" (whatever order it was... ) and in this episode she's wearing, uh.. the one with the girl swinging in the yard with a TV. She also had on a "Joss Whedon is my Master Now" shirt. Awesome.

Things wot I did today:

Went to Colonie High and CBA craft fairs. Got some fun things for Christmas gifts. Christine of Summit Soap Works was there and I ended up getting 4 more bars of soap and her new shea butter lotion. XD I'm not really sure I need more soap.. but, hey, whatever.

After craft fairs and lunch at the diner, we headed over to Huck Finn's to check out some things. I got a new mattress :D Seriously? Did not think looking for a mattress would be that difficult. I ended up getting a.. King Coil Spine Support something or other. Also looked at rugs for mom's room and a new love seat for the family room. Didn't get either of those, but we did find new chairs for the kitchen table :D

Have spent the last 4 hours cleaning the house. It's not perfect, but I'm done. At least I won't have to worry about it next week when our friend's parents come over to house sit for us.

My BPAL order came in today! :D *glee* 5ml bottles of Yvaine and Lady Una, which both smell lovely on. Yvaine stays on for quite a long time -- I can still smell it 4 hours later. Lady Una has a nice fruit smell that not too sweet, and has a touch of floral. Love. Also got five frimps: Baneberry, The Hamptons, Vampire Tears, Slobbering Pine, Belle Epoche. Not tried any of those. Really need to update my spreadsheet and site :\

WOOHOO! BPAL Click-N-Ship today! :D Can't wait to get the new blends. Both of them are Stardust scents: Yvaine and Lady Una.

From this year's Halloween Ghost Hunters Live at the Waverly Sanatorium. Wrestler Elijah Burke screams like a girl and books it down a dark hall:

I would totally buy this year's Live DVD just for that. Best. Ever.

In other news, the WGA strike continues on.

Joss Whedon has made a post on Whedonesque about a meeting he had with some showrunners. (Whedonesque and the creation of Fans4Writers were spoken of in awed whispers. I'm not kidding: one of the WGA workers asked me, "So, your fans. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?" I swear, having you guys in my corner is like being friends with Zorro. People in the community are amazed.)

And if you haven't been there yet, check out Fans4Writers.com. There have been some great photos from the live. I don't think I understand the WGA monkey... but it's amusing. Summer Glau and the cast of the Sarah Connor Chronicles. David Boreanaz... flagging down cars. And Seth Green handing out Krispy Kreme.
