doctor who 6.06
Jun. 7th, 2011 03:20 pmA little late with my review and I'm just gonna go from memory as I wasn't typing while I was watching, but it was a great episode!

First off, I love that we once again got two Doctors. I don't know why it's so fun to watch them together, but it is. Loved that they put in voices for four and Ten during his stabilization. I found two Elevens to be more fun than two Tens, actually. It was interesting that they purposefully swapped places to see whether Amy would treat them differently, because I guess he's always testing his companions.
Poor Rory, getting jerked around by that Ganger Jennifer. I thought that was two Jennifer Gangers, but I wasn't positive. Anyway... interesting how the Doctor used real emotional attachment (in this case father & son) to suddenly get the Gangers to change their mind about trying kill all humans. It is pretty awful that the conscious Flesh were left there to rot, but geez. Killing humans isn't really fix the problem.
I figured that they couldn't let all the Gangers live, but it was interesting how some of each group survived and have to now continue on. Well, okay, not Jennifer. I don't really get why they didn't all just get in the TARDIS - I honestly think they had time. Whatever.
BUT OH. OH THAT THING AT THE END. I did have some notion that maybe Amy wasn't not quite right and perhaps there was some kind of weird alternate dimension thing going on with her. Never did I think she was Flesh for... how long, really? It must have been when she was taken by the Silents at the orphanage. ACK! I'm not sure how I feel about Rory now completely trusting the Doctor - he might not have just stepped away from Amy before, but now he believes the Doctor when he vaguely implies that something is not right.
Saturday! I've actually already been spoiled for the big reveal in episode 7, but it'll be great to actually see it unfold. and, actually, even knowing I'm not sure how it will all go together. Moffat's been setting this thing up for ages and I have a feeling I'm going to have to go back and watch all of River's episodes to catch the little hints he threw in. Anyway, more thoughts on that next week...

In other news, what is this chatter about Matt Smith going to LA and Karen looking for other jobs and possibly delaying series 7 and this break until September for the rest of series 6?! WHAT?! Not happy...
