amezri: (con ;; up to no good!)
[personal profile] amezri
Well, it only took me a week to write this thing! Apparently Globat has been having database overload issues, so all the galleries hosted on eternalvox have been up and down for the last two days. Ugh. I hope they've fixed it now. I twittered a lot during this con and I think it worked almost as well as me scrawling notes every night so I've linked to some of those and my twitpic posts along with photos within the posts. Also, some things I learned at con:

First off: my Sony DSC-W90 sucks beyond the telling of it for low-light photos. Grainy, grainy, grainy. But, that's probably because I left it totally on auto and figured it would just do its thing. And it did -- blew out the ISO trying to take the photo and OMG AWFUL. So, next time, it'll be the Powershot S3, or manual settings for the Sony.

Secondly: I learned that my enV2 does not store an infinite amount of notes. Or a decent number of them -- it only stores 4. You put in more than that, and it will delete the older ones. I lost a lot of my notes from con because I didn't know it did that. ARGH.

Third: ALL MY CON PHOTOS HERE.

Now, on with the report...

Day One: Friday, August 29

I had to get up at about 3am... it was brutal, but I managed it. Showered, dressed, and did a last minute check before I was out the door and to the airport by 4:30am. It only took like 15 minutes to get through the security check point and it cost me $3.50 for a bottle of water and a single serving of Honey Nut Cheerios. Man, airports sure do like to rip you off.

Boarded on time at 5:30am and landed in Atlanta, GA with no problems at 8:15am! During the planning of the trip, I was undecided if I should try to catch the shuttle or take the MARTA, but after I got my luggage and wandered towards the exit, I saw the sign for the MARTA and saw people with much larger suitcases than I headed that way, so I went along as well. I had a bit of trouble with the ticket machine and the whole using of the visitor ticket (looking for the swipe bar and there is none!), but once that was sorted, it all went fine. The MARTA was actually rather empty and I thought the train was pretty clean and easy to use.

While on the train, I was texting people to let them know I'd be arriving and it was suggested I hit the registration line right away to get my badge. I wasn't planning on doing that, but once I got off the train, I ran into some other kids going to the con and they directed me to the Hyatt and also decided to get into the registration line.... as there wasn't one. I'm guessing con people are not early risers, so at 9:00am, there was hardly anyone there and I got my badge really quickly!

Headed up to my room in the Hyatt and saw Dean Haglund on the elevator! I didn't say anything because, well, honestly, I don't really have anything to say to him and I've met him twice already anyway.

Once in the room, I met up with Joel and Ben whoever else was awake at the time. Kind of poked around for a bit and texted [livejournal.com profile] alorarose before changing into my River costume. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get dressed that early and didn't know what I wanted to wear, but [livejournal.com profile] alorarose helped me out XD

Since everyone in my room was still being a bum and Pano & Liz weren't answering (it was already noon!), I went to [livejournal.com profile] alorarose's room for a bit. Watched them all put the final touches on their costumes before heading to the James Marsters Buffyverse panel.

I have to say that James Marsters is extremely intelligent - more so than he lets on - and it's very interesting to hear him go off on these rants about politics and science. Like, he mentioned the he really like Biden as the VP choice and they, essentially, we need that sort of attack dog in there. He also talked about Dragonball -- which he loves and is very excited about. Of course he also talked about his time on Torchwood and how he discovered that he was actually a bit homophobic and when he saw John Barrowman on set harassing everyone, he kind of freaked out. Then he discovered that's just the way Barrowman is and Barrowman, realizing he freaked James out, immediately went out of his way to help James feel more comfortable on set. So yeah, he loves the Torchwood cast and totally wants to go back. Oh! During the Q&A someone asked him to do the accent, but you guys, he so can't anymore! He sounds like a Welshman! Too much time around those Torchwood peeps, I'm thinking, especially Gareth, who he seems to get on well with. Heh. I wish my photos came out better.

After the panel, I met up with Liz, Pano, and the Mikes. We did a bit of wandering around, slowly making our way from the Hyatt to the ScifiHero fan table in the Marriott. Stopped and took photos of some cool costumes, including Aliens, Dr. Horrible, Colossus, Tony & Pepper, and the Doctor and Reinette! Hung out for a while before heading over to the mall food court in the Peachtree Center for food with Mike S. Actually, Pano had brought us both over and we found a Wraith wandering around, so of course silly photos were taken! Headed back over to the fan table after we'd eaten and then poked through the two dealers rooms on that level. I didn't really see anything I liked.

It was soon time for the first Stargate Mega Panel of the con, so Liz, Pano, the Mikes, and I headed over to the conference room. This first panel had Beau Bridges, Eric Avari, Cliff Simon, Torri Higginson, Morena Baccarin, and Rainbow Sun Francks. I can't remember what all they talked abut, but at one point people were talking about the show being canceled and Morena say, "Be glad; Firefly only had 13 episodes," and Rainbow goes, "Yeah, but they were the best 13 episodes ever made." Then he takes a moment to fanboy the series. It was totally amusing.

After the Stargate panel, there was more wandering before I decided I wanted to change into my arc reactor costume. Once I did that, there was more continued wandering and stopping in the track room. At one point, Pano came in in a rush and grabbed Liz and I. Out in the Marriott there was a whole line of people in Iron Man suits. It was awesome! I sort of jumped into the line because... I had an arc reactor? In retrospect, it was a wanky thing for me to do because honestly, what business did I have standing next to those awesome outfits?? NONE, is what. God, they must have stood there for nearly an hour getting their photo taken. Once I got out of that line of awesome, some people did stop and ask me for my photo, so that was cool.

Then the Spartans showed up and pwnd everyone! (Oh man, my camera takes horrible low light photos on the auto setting!) The Cobra soldiers would stand no chance. Hahah!

With little else to do and hunger becoming an issue, we wandered back over to the Peachtree Center food court for dinner. I think we ran into Johnny Rico there as well. Or maybe it was Matt Hudson. Now I don't know. I do know that on the way back, [livejournal.com profile] thepeopleseason located me and said hello! That was pretty awesome. I wish I had the chance to meet up with him again during the weekend, but it just never happened.

We ran into Ten! And Wolverine. And probably the best Joker of the weekend. There was more hanging out at the High Velocity bar in the Marriott before we went up to the Colonial Fleet bar and hung around there for awhile. [livejournal.com profile] dsw_777 had invited us up earlier. I think we ended up just standing outside before we all went back to my room where there was some partying going on. Carlos, Joel, and all my other hotel roomies were having a good time getting their drink on. So, my gang hung out for a while. Carlos came over and chatted with us for a while and had some fun discussions before my SG crew bailed. Then Carlos and I were like, talking Twilight until 3am when I finally went to bed because I had to get up at 7am to get ready for the parade.

Day Two: Saturday, August 30

Oh man, 7am is too early to be awake after only 4 hours of sleep! but I was up and showered and dressed and headed to Liz & Pano's room by 8am. Those bums were still sleeping! We all finally made it down to the fan table a half hour later where people were still assembling. Met up with Husher, Dean, and [livejournal.com profile] stoyboy720 among others from SciFiHero.

There was a lot of milling around before we were finally walking out to the starting point. We stood around while things were being organized and managed to pull in a new member -- Tony. He was pretty cool and hadn't been part of the group before, but his costume was great and he fit in really well with the Atlantis portion of the group. OMG it was hot and humid out; I hate your weather, South. The tactical gear was killing me. Thankfully, I made it all the way through without tripping or passing out. I was completely gross, though, and couldn't wait to go back and change. Since I was in the parade, I've not got any photos, but poking around flickr, I did see a few good shots of me and SciFiHero.

After the parade, we met up in the SunTrust plaza for some group photos. A pro photographer was there doing some directing at one point, so that was cool. After the group shots, a bunch of people (Pano being the ringleader) split off and did some silly posed shots.

I decided not to change out of gear after all once I went back to my room and washed my face and changed my undershirt. Anyway, it was fun to be in my tactical gear for a while, running around. Pano, Mike, and I went for lunch before coming back to get Husher so we could make a trip to the Walk of Fame. I understand that the line for the Stargate people can get out of hand so they have to do what they did but honestly, I found it really annoying and I totally wasn't in the mood to deal with it that day. Honestly, the lines weren't too terrible for most, but holy crap with the pricing. I ended up just getting Cliff Simon, Gareth David-Lloyd, Yancy Butler, and David Franklin. Nathan and Alan were there, but they cut off the line before I got there so I lost that one :P

Gareth David-Lloyd was really nice and I couldn't take a photo with him, but was allowed to take one of him. Cliff Simon was pretty cool too and I asked for a photo with him not knowing it was going to cost $10. I sort of froze and was like, "uuuh...." so Cliff was like, "don't worry about it, just take it," and then afterward said it was because I gave him my artwork and didn't charge him so it was only fair. Hee! David Franklin I finally got to talk to! I reminded him that I met him a couple years back at a Burbank Creation Con, but at the time I didn't talk to him, only gave him some artwork. He was all, "oh yeah! In the," making a frame gesture with his hands. "See, you can tell I remember because I remembered the," makes more frame gestures. Chatted with him a bit and had him sign an 8x10.

Yancy was sort of unexpected. I didn't plan on asking her to sign anything, but there was no line and I wandered over. She was really nice and when she shook my hand noticed the Witchblade bracelet I had on. She showed my one a fan had just given her (honestly it wasn't as nice as mine) and Yancy goes, "But I like yours better!" AHAHAHA! I talked to her a bit about the show and how much I liked it and thought it was a good translation of the comic. I thought it was rather interesting that she said the reason the show was canceled was because of huge budget and other production problems. Yeah. Okay.

Oh, I also stopped and said hi to Vic Mignogna. I'd worked with him on Phase II and though I have no interest in any of his voice acting work, I thought he was a cool guy. I gave him one of my postcard prints (I think it was Bloody Flora) and chatted with him a bit. He asked if I wanted anything signed and I declined, but then he signed a card for me anyway. Heh. He's a pretty nice guy and I hope I run into him at another con again.

After the Walk of Fame (and losing Mike K.), I headed back to my room so I could change out of my icky BDUs. Honestly, I could have gone to dinner like that, but I really didn't want to. Showered and changed into normal street clothes. Met back up with Liz and Husher and his group. I can't remember if the Mikes were with us at that point.. I think they were. We got to Barley's a bit early and no one had really shown up yet.

Dinner was pretty good. The mashed potatoes were tasty and sweet tea is good. I didn't like that the tables were so small -- it felt really cliquey as everyone just sat in the same small groups they stayed in for the whole con. Also? The lighting was horrible. With the blinds open, anyone facing the window couldn't see and with them closed, it was kind of dark. No win, really. People were snapping photos all during dinner and I even got a couple, so that was cool. The charity auction went pretty well too. I loved the last minute addition of the toaster signed by the cast. So great! Sandy did a really excellent job organizing everything at the last minute.

Just as everyone was leaving the dinner, Torri Higginson and Rainbow Sun Francks showed up! There was a bit of activity around them, but it was all very well mannered and I don't think people were crowding them. Both of them were presented with appreciation certificates from the group.

I went up to Torri first and said hello and introduced myself. I gave her one of the new Module prints and she immediately recognized the work and said she'd gotten the artbook and print I sent. I said that was really great because I never know if stuff gets where it's going in the mail. She told me that she'd mailed me a letter a couple months ago and was surprised I haven't gotten it. No, nothing in the mail. She actually had a pouty sad face! It was so cute. I said not to worry about it, but she was genuinely bummed because usually she doesn't write long letters, but in this case she did because she liked it so much. It is just so, so cool that she liked my art! Apparently she never got the Atene print, so I gave her a postcard print of it -- she said I should talk to Rainbow because he's really into art.

As she was saying that, I noticed Rainbow (who was a bit tipsy) was looking at the print of Atene, so I figured that was a good time to give him his print. He looks up and goes, "that was you?!" Uh... yeah? He was totally excited to meet me and stumbled up and gave me a hug! XD He said he'd gotten the artwork, but it was after I sent it since it was around the time he, er, you know, got Wraithed on the show, so there was a bit of a shuffle. But he really liked the artwork and was glad to finally meet me said he wanted to talk to me about it. So. Awesome.

Before they both had to run, I got a photo with Torri (who remember my name!!) and I had a few photos with Rainbow because he told Liz to keep taking them and then to turn the camera and take some more. Hee! He reminded me again to see him the next day at his table, but I mentioned that I wasn't sure if I'd be allowed to get through because they were ticketing the people who wanted to see the Stargate actors so he wrote me a note to get me in. Oh man, I totally love Rainbow. Seriously. He is made of win.

In conclusion: BEST DINNER EVER.

After dinner -- how do you top that dinner?? -- I headed back to Liz & Pano's room where the boys... got in some very strange costumes. They came up with an SG team that had no budget... and had outfitted themselves with old scraps and garbage bags. Yeah. I don't know, but it was hilarious. After running to the Stargate Track room to scare McKay, we headed to the Colonial Fleet party at the Sheraton. I thought it was a pretty kicking party, but it will be trumped by the Wolf Pack party the next night.

We were only there for a short time, but I did get to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] whisperwords! How is it that you guys can all spot me but I never see any of you?! Clearly, I am just unobservant.

There were rumors of jello wrestling in a secret location, so we left the perfectly awesome TCF party go find that. Had I known that this jello party was actually just a ridiculous amount of people crammed in a room, I'd have lobbied to stay at the TCF shindig. As it was, we just putzed around for while before we finally headed over to the Colonial Fleet after party in the Marriott.

I got Joel (who was dressed as Baltar) to join us there with Carlos and the rest of the gang (Chasity, Trent, and Jyotika). It was pretty fun and we had a rather big table that included Husher, his girlfriend Karyn, and their friend Donna. The party was crashed by my favorite party crasher -- Drunk!Ten and Rose! Seriously that guy had the GITF act down so well, Dean came over and said to me, "Someone needs to take that guy home." I explained it was an act because, look, people who are that drunk do not notice a camera nor do that stop and hold a pose for 20 seconds while you take a picture of them. [livejournal.com profile] dsw_777 revealed the Final Cylon. Aaron Douglas showed up a bit later to watch them give the nuggets call signs.

Once again, I think it was past 3am before I went to bed.

Day Three: Sunday, August 31

Oh man, where does the weekend go? Dragon*Con is like a vortex that just sucks your perception of time away.

I got up at 10am and was dressed before anyone else I knew was awake! I think I decided my River costume would be nice and comfortable for the day. Liz was up in her room and I waited for her to get ready. Decided to head to Kafe Kobenhaven downstairs and get some food. Here's something I forgot: hotel food is like three times the price of outside food. $15 for some pancakes... and not even great pancakes! They were just okay.

Met up with Liz and stopped at the con suite so she could get some food. We headed to the Walk of Fame directly after that so we could beat the lines and I could talk to Rainbow. Luckily, he was up and away from his table, so we got to him before he was officially signing. He motioned us over to his table where Liz and I sat and chatted to him for a while about day to day things and he talked to me about my artwork. There may or may not be a collaboration in the future; the fact that he was even thinking about it was way flattering. He said that his mom had gotten the packages and wouldn't let him have them -- that he'd only mess them up so she was holding on to them, "like I'm 6 or something," he said. Hehehe. So the artbooks and prints are at his mom's house. I are amused. We tried not to be in the way as he signed a couple of things and his handler was really nice about us being there and a bit in the way. I noticed a photo Rainbow had doodled on and Liz and I were just commenting about how cool it was and, not even thinking, I was like, "I'd totally want that," and while he's signing, Rainbow just grabs it and hands it to me. <3 Finally the lines were getting longer and we were officially in the way, so we said our goodbyes and got out of there.

On the way back to the fan table, we stopped in the larger dealers room so Liz could have a look around. Still nothing to see, really. Oh, except the DALEK in the hallway!

Headed to the track room for the costuming and props panel. Kind of cool. I'd forgotten about friendly plastic so that was cool. Other than that, I'm not sure I learned anything new. Oh.. I believe I was mistaken for a Nox what with wearing the River costume. Heh.

After that was the Don S. Davis Tribute which was attended by Beau Bridges, Cliff Simon, Eric Avari, Torri Higginson, Robert Picardo, Rainbow Sun Francks, and Julie Caitlin Brown. It was way sad :\ People told all these stories about how they met him and what wisdom he'd passed on to them. JCB sang a song. Yeah... way sad.

After the tribute, the boys ran off to do other things. Liz and I stayed for the charity auction, which was hosted by David Nykl and McKay (Nick). David Nykl runs a real entertaining show! McKay climbed up on the table to model the Atlantis jackets for sale and Dean came out to model some some things as well. Quite a bit of money was raised.

Liz and I hit the small dealers rooms while waiting for Pano to bring us food. YAY for food and YAY for Pano for getting it! After we loitered around a bit, I decided to go get in my Doctor costume. The River costume only got three comments both times I wore it and the Doctor costume got numerous, "Oh my god, a female doctor!"s in the four hours I had it on. Even got a photo with a Martha Jones! I guess I should have been in that one all day.

While Liz was getting coffee, I noticed Dave Tango sitting in the cafe with some people watching the Masquerade on TV. I hesitated to go over there, but I finally just went and introduced myself. He shook my hand and we exchanged all those pleasantries. I asked if he was going to be at his table tomorrow, but it seems he was going to be leaving. Bummer. He might have said he liked my outfit and I might have said, "Oh, I'm the Doctor," before running back over to my table. [livejournal.com profile] whisperwords stopped and said hello shortly after that exchange I think. It might have been before.

We bar hopped over at the Marriott and took some photos before heading back to the Hyatt for the Wolf Pack Elite party. I thought about the Mad Scientists party, but holy frak that line was insane! The Wolf Pack party though. Wow. I mean... they totally win for party of the year. Awesome techno music. Half naked girls dancing on stage in cages and on poles. Crazy performance acts. How do you beat that?! So when I said the previous night that the TCF part was a fraking rave, what I meant was that it was a mighty fine shindig but it ain't no rave compared to the Wolf Pack party.

Honestly, it's been ages since I heard good, dance-y techno and I had the urge to dance. The Doctor suit was killing me, so I bailed to get changed (was stopped a couple times for photos!!). Threw on shorts, my Zombie Survival Guide shirt, and the Doctor's chucks and back to the party I went! It took a couple rounds of room walking to find Liz & Pano and the Mikes again, but I did and it was ON.

Liz left at some point to go visit Katie & Ryan. Then shortly after that, Pano and the Mikes ran off and I was left with Kronk and Dean & Kris. That was a-ok with me because they are awesome party companions. Plus, you know, not hard on the eyes (dear self: married - no touchy. but srsly where do the pretty, single boys come from, because I have none!) in that sea of pasty basement geeks. And honestly? You throw a bunch of hot girls on stage and of course the social rejects will be taking photos like no tomorrow. Of course. It was starting to get annoying, honestly. I mean, yeah, I snapped a few, but in between I was one of like 7 people dancing and I knew 3 of them! There was a huge 2 hour lull where all the DJ played was hip hop crap. I hate dancing to hip hop and r&b. I was really grateful when the DJ closed out the night with three really solid techno dance tracks, just in time for me to evade some creepo. I'd been complaining about the lame music and cheered when the techno kicked in and I think Kronk asked me if this was more my stuff and I was all, "hell yeah!" Why? because for a girl who is all about personal space, techno is the music. You don't have to get too close to anyone and if you've got some creepy guy after you, you either jab him with an elbow, evade by bouncing around, or do what I did when freakshow was getting too close -- totally jump spin away. HAHAHAHA!

We so closed out that party and met up with Liz, Pano, and the Mikes out in the lobby. Must have been past 3am by that point! We all chatted for a bit and I got to talk to Kris for a little bit. Totally a shame because she seems real awesome and I never got to talk to her earlier -- you know, when I was wasn't half deaf from the music or exhausted. Awesomely kick-ass party, though. YEAH.

Oh man, I never got to say a proper goodbye to Liz, Pano, and the Mikes as we were all headed up in the elevator and I got off before I even realized I wasn't going to see them again the next day! -_-; Sucks. I went back to my room and people there were still awake! So I chatted with them for a while and then went to my room and actually packed my stuff so I wouldn't have to do it the next day. Was nearly 5am before I went to bed.

Day Four: Monday, September 1

Another night of 5 hours of sleep. 10am was kind of later than I wanted to get up my last day, but there you go. As usual, I was basically the first one up. After I got dressed, I headed to the coffee shop downstairs and bought myself an over-priced mushy yogurt parfait. Yum! :P

Headed to the Walk of Fame. There was no one at all in the Stargate lines so I decided, what the hell, and bought tickets for Morena, David Nykl, and Rainbow. I was going to get Torri, but it seems she'd already left. Ran into Ryan & Katie while I was there and chatted with them a bit.

I was directed to Rainbow's table first and he was once again just totally awesome. He was all, "What are you doing?" which is funny because I understand that autograph money goes to the actor and buying them does actually support them in a more immediate way so I'm all to glad to do it. But strangely, he wasn't having any of it and went beyond just not taking my ticket. It was... pretty awesome, really. While he was signing I asked him if he was at the Wolf Pack Party (apparently James Callis, Tahmoh Pennikett, and Aaron Douglas had showed) and he said he meant to but didn't, so I showed him photos of the chicks on stage and he was like, "where was I?!" Haha! He was great, as was his handler, whose name I never got, which I should have done. Anyway, he signed a photo for me and it is probably my very favorite.

Went to David Nykl after that and he was just as nice. Gave him the Module print and I think I might have made some small talk about his running of the charity auction. Then I went to Morena, who was really lovely and I didn't really have anything to say except babble on about how it's funny that they have you double check spellings on names because people spell things all weird now. She shook my hand and then I was on my way.

I wandered around the Walk of Fame to see if I could get anyone else, but it seemed like anyone else I wanted (Nathan and Alan) were no longer signing. I mean, sure I could try and hunt them down, but I'm not that crazed of a fan. Oh, spur of the moment, I decided to get something signed by James Hong and ended up having a discussion with him about Taiwan and how my Chinese penmanship is just horrible. I'd given him a postcard print of Atene and he asked me to e-mail him more work... so I should try and remember to do that. I did run into James Cawley again at George Takei's table so that was cool. Eventually I headed out of there to go back to the track room.. but I didn't really get too far before Husher texted me to say he was in the Walk of Fame.

So... Walk of Fame take two! Looked around for Husher and found him chatting on the phone. While he was talking, I noticed Tahmoh Pennikett was at his table and there was no line so I rushed over there to get his autograph and give him a print. I have no idea what I gave him... probably a card of Module? We circled the tables again to see if there was anyone else before we decided to head out. Both of us wanted to say goodbye to Rainbow and it looked like there was no line. So we went to say goodbye and probably ended up annoying the handler who had been so nice to me the last couple days. I guess Rainbow was working on a charity piece and a quick goodbye turned into me explaining furries and plushies to him because I forgot yesterday and him going "WTF?" and her being all, "okay, he has to concentrate now," and then me being totally understanding and a wee bit snark but in an "omg, sorry I am a dork I will get out of the way" sort of thing and then Husher and I got out of there.

I ended up spending most of my day with Husher. Liz, Pano, and the Mikes had left way early in the morning. Joel & co were off doing other things. Karyn was at an X-Files panel. So Husher and I went to the dealers room to kill some time and I ended up buying some toys. After that, he went with me to get some food which I ate in the Pulse loft while we were chatting. Karyn, Donna, and... erm.. their friend I whose name I forgot came by and we all sat around. They all left finally and I ended up back in the Pit dealer's room where I bought more toys! There is no shame. Happened to run into Ben & Carlos while I was there, which was cool as I had the chance to say goodbye proper.

At about 4pm I went to gather all my stuff. Trent was in the room (and Scott too I think?) so I said goodbye to them. Dragged my suitcase to the MARTA station. Ran in to Dean and Kris there. Well, they ran into me. Srsly, why don't I ever see you people coming at me?! We had a nice chat on the way to the airport and I learned, among other things, not to get Dean started on the Transformers movie o_O Sorry, dude, I liked it! Once at the airport, we said our goodbyes as we had two different terminals to go to.

I had about two hours to kill at the airport and filled a lot of it eating junk food: a cookies & cream milk shake, chocolates, and Wendy's. Blech.

My trip home was entirely uneventful. Brad Dourif was on my plane about 4 rows in front of my but I had absolutely no reason to go bother him, especially since I didn't even stop at his table this weekend. It was pretty weird to see him in the Albany airport at baggage claim once we all got out, though.

Mom picked me up and once I got home I chatted with her a bit and showed her all the stuff I got signed and some photos. I'd planned on going to bed early, but ended p on the computer into the wee hours reading e-mail and whatnot. Oh, internets, I has missed you!

In conclusion: Dragon*Con was awesome. There was a ridiculous amount of stuff to do and I didn't do nearly as much as I could have but still, I don't really regret anything and I have a really awesome time hanging out with everyone. I guess my one regret is not being able to spend time with more of my friends who were there. Next year, maybe, as I definitely plan on going back!

Sounds like you had an awesome time! Im jealous. *L*

And good to hear that Rainbow is still awesome. I meet him at MuchMusic when he was still a VJ in 2001 (at a 9/11 youth special), and I was completely taken by how sweet and polite he was. :D
