new year; room cleaning

amezriWell. Can't very well miss making my first entry of the new year, can I?
Yesterday I decided to start on a very insane project -- switch around my bookshelves to make room for my DVDs. This should have worked no problem. Except there is a huge one: in spreading out my DVD collection so the shelves are not packed to the gills, I've displaced all my books and even though I've packed some up to give away, there really isn't enough room to get them all away again. Oops. So right now I'm staring at a rather large mess all over the floor.... but. Anyway.
Last night I went to Kierstin and Jor-El's for an 80's themed New Year's party. Was a good time, even though I'm sure I looked bored out of my mind. I can't help it.. that's kind of how I look when there aren't really people who I know. It was a good time though.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
katkel and sweetwildandmad were there as well. Didn't get home until 3am. Hah!
Today I got up rather late and... snow! There was more snow outside. I love New York, I do... but I really hate snow. Ended up spending something like 8 hours today trying to finish up the reorganization of my room. It hasn't gone especially well, but I did manage to at least get all the new DVDs entered into my database (and discover that I don't actually own the Burton/Depp Charlie & the Chocolate Factory) and away on to shelves. I've just tossed out a bag of trash at least. At this late hour, though, I've pretty much given up. Will try again on Thursday and Friday. Right now there are piles of what can only be described as "random shit" everywhere -_-;; The books have, for the moment, been put in another room until I can get them away. :\
Work tomorrow. Blech.
