Yesterday I went to a gathering with katkel. It was a bit up into the mountains, so we (me, katkel and her friend D) all carpooled in my Jeep XD It was loads of fun. The food was great. katkel and sweetwildandmad had made tiny gingerbread houses for us and boy were they tasty! Amy baked two chickens and katkel made her mac & cheese. Awesome. We had some fun conversations on topics that were rather serious, but it was cool to be around like-minded people having interesting discussions. When we left (adding kdarling2882 to the passenger list), it had just barely started to snow, so there wasn't much of an issue getting everyone home safely. By the time I got near my house, though, the snow was starting fall rather heavily and in my rear view I could see the snow swirling around on the ground in the wake of the cars driving past. It was kind of cool, actually, except for the part where I couldn't really see the lines on the road in front of me. Blech.

This morning I woke up and found that 4 or 5 inches had fallen. I didn't actually crawl out of bed until about noon and then we had to go out and shovel. Thankfully, we have our old beat-up snowblower, which still does the job. Took about an hour and a half to clean up the driveway, but while we were out there, sleet was falling pretty heavily. Well. Actually, it was more like ice pellets and when I shoveled it, they sort of spread in the wake of the shovel like sand. I'm not looking forward to cleaning it all up again...

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End since mom hadn't seen it before. Figured out that out stereo system does apparently work and for now we don't need a new one as we don't actually use the we've got anyway. *shrug*

Stardust out on DVD Tuesday! *gleeeee* I've actually been wanting to watch that again. I hope there are extras of some kind on it. Looks like just a single disc set :\ Also, The Last Legion, which I wanted to see, but then forgot about.

I've just purchased my new frock coat from Pendragon Costumes! queenmaab helped me decide on the fabrics and I ended up going with a different trim that we'd originally decided on. The frock coat will be part of a gothic lolita Hogwarts costume (if I can pull it off) and I think will be a nice, light coat to wear in the Spring. It's black brocade on the outside and a blue-ish green/gold brocade on the inside. I can't wait to get it! I'd been going back and forth with Nicole about it for awhile and she's agreed to try and pocket in-seam pockets in ^^ Hurray!

I think it's still snowing outside. I am not amused. Mostly because I think it's supposed to stop about 7am tomorrow which means work is unlikely to be canceled. Ugh. I'm not at all looking forward to training because... yeah, not.

was it just me, or was the snow storm actually no big deal? i can still walk thru it, and my exams aren't cancelled. unlike last year, where we were all snowed in!! haha.

You're right, totally no big deal, but I guess it turned later Sunday or something? Meh. I was hoping work would be canceled today.

Christmas holiday schedule started this week! I get massive days off starting soon :D
