xp logon: torchwood

This is a repost, with extras! As promised, here's my Torchwood Logon screens for other sizes: 1280x1024, 1280x800, and 1680x1050.

Each of the four sizes are designed a little differently and I actually still prefer the original 1024x768 that I'm using on Talyn. The others look pretty good though. Thanks to sweetwildandmad for helping me tweak the widescreen one a bit.

Once again, the logon skin is based on the original system interface design found at Torchwood.org.uk. I redrew some bits for the other sizes. Hopefully it all looks okay.

It's for Windows XP only as I don't have a machine with Vista on it. But, if you'd like it, you'll need:

+ LogonStudio for WinXP
+ my Torchwood skin in your screen resolution (user icon included):
     1024x768 | 1280x1024 | 1280x800 | 1680x1050

Install LogonStudio. Unzip the Torchwood.zip. From LogonStudio, select Load and find the Torchwood.logonxp file you extracted.

If it doesn't work when you hit Apply in LogonStudio, make sure your logon option for Windows is set to use the Welcome Screen:
Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change the way.. -> check both boxes

I am too lazy to make a wallpaper, but if you must have one, just find where you installed LogonStudio and there should be a Torchwood folder in there somewhere. The first .bmp file should be the right size to use as a wallpaper if you want it.

Unfortunately, Vista won't skin the same way, but I think LogonVista will let you set a background. If you tell me your screen resolution and tell me where the login box shows up, I can try to design you something?

Hmmmmmm. I've got a 1280x1024 resolution, and the login box shows up smack dab in the center of the screen.

If you can't -- or don't want to -- come up with anything, could I possibly get the 1280x1024 background? I could probably finagle something out myself if anything else.

I don't have a clue how to use LogonVista, so I don't know if you have to change the jog to a bmp first...

Okay, cool :) I'm curious as to how it looks. Except you can't print screen from Vista logon. Meh. You can just describe to me how brilliant it is! Or how lame. Whichever. XD

LOL well it's just the background you gave me, and then it says "Windows Vista Home Premium" at the bottom because apparently that HAS to be there (*glares at computer*) and then right smack in the middle is the user logon thingy with the usericon as an enormous 200x200 thing just above it. I set the Torchwood icon you put in with the winxp version of the thing as my default and it looks totally cool.

I'd print screen it if I could. :\

Vista is lame with the non-customizing. Oh well. At least it's Torchwood-ified! I just wasn't sure if I left enough room for the login part so it wasn't covering the text.

Do you want a 200x200 user icon to match? XD

Okay. Here you go! I made it a bit larger. Scaling down is a better way to go I figure. And it's a bit swankier than the other one I'd made.

Even though it's just a background and icon, I wish I could see what it looks like :)

My resolution's 1280x800 (I don't know why, but the other ones make everything blurry so I have to go with that one) so the 1280x1024 one cuts off the bottom of the disclaimer but it's close enough. THANK YOU! It's awesome. I keep wanting to log off just so I can see it.

I feel like such a pain now! I can't get the new resolution and I'm not sure if it's the file or my computer - it tells me the file is invalid or corrupt when I download it.
