So apparently I'm going to be attending MEANY Fest next Saturday with A. We're riding down with Ten Year Vamp and friends XD

I just watched the first episode of Bionic Woman. Won't get into too many details because I can't be bothered to cut, but it was better than I was expecting. The story was pretty coherent (considering). My one gripe has to be with the music. What is up with the power chords? Let's talk about being overly dramatic. Eeesh. This is not a spoiler since it was in the commercials: that fight between Sarah and Jamie was freakin' awesome. I hope that have one of those every week :D Kara Thrace is a bad ass Cylon ;)

Also? The show is clearly -- clearly -- filmed in Canada. *checks IMDB* Yep, good ol' Vancouver. Not that I'm hating on the Canadian casting. We get Katee Sackhoff and Aaron Douglas. Plus, Mark Sheppard and Will Yun Lee! Leela Savasta was in an episode of SGA and will be in the new season of BSG. So, for casting alone, I'm all over this show.

I saw the pilot of Bionic Woman last week (NBC released a whole bunch of their pilots through Amazon for free!) and I thought it was pretty good. I just wish there wasn't so much on Wednesdays at 9. I'll have to watch BW on NBC.com. My DVR can't handle more than 2 recordings at one time. Bleh.

We watched Bionic woman a few weeks ago, when NBC put some of it's new pilots (including Journeyman, which I enjoyed as a less cheasy version of Quantum Leap).

I understand that pilots have the tough job of trying to hook you for the rest of the season, that being said I think BW tried too damn hard. It should have been a 2 hour pilot (Hell, it at leasts deserves it for it's established pop culture street cred). I felt the whole episode was nothing but slap in the face plot exposition, and the foreshadowing was very heavy handed. Oh, your sister has a court order banning her from using a computer? That must mean she's a sup3r l33t haxxorz, I wonder if that will come in handy?

Bottom line, they told us everything we need to know and didn't leave much to the imagination. I'm only looking forward to the 2nd episode because, well... it's primetime scifi.

Now, Journeyman. That may not turn into the awesome-ist show evah, but the pilot was very well crafted (even tho it's getting crappy reviews). The plot exposition was so soft and subtle, like a feint breeze. Plus, plenty of mystery with little explaination (it works on LOST). Oh, and I really like the main actor from watching him on HBO's ROME. Definately worth checking out.

Haha. Yeah, Bionic Woman definitely has issues, but I wasn't expecting classy, subtle writing. Basically, this show is only going to be good for the shine & gloss and showcasing my favorite Canadians. Plus, chick fights involving Starbuck! I can deal.

Journeyman... will perhaps check it out. I still haven't caught up on the shows I wanted to see from this summer (Burn Notice & Eureka).
