Just got back from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Hooray!
It was good as I was hoping and better than I was expecting. Yes. Had a really nice group of 10 with us tonight --

sweetwildandmad &

tiscbh28, Annalisa, and
thebigfatman &
pgnblade
Things Wot I Liked:
+ Elizabeth kicking ass
+ Pintel & Ragetti FTW!
+ Jack. Who doesn't love Jack?
Uhhmmm... enough bullet points. My brain is tired. I loved the ending a lot. I think it's a good place to end it and still leave room for a sequel. The audiance gets a mildly happy ending (Will's not dead at least) without it being overly storybook (happily ever after and all that). The bit at the end of the credits was really, really cool and I'm glad they added it. Elizabeth doesn't look even remotely close to 10 years older, but whatever. Isn't she still the Pirate King? I'm thinking so. Yeah.
I think the movie may have dragged in some bits, but that was quickly forgotten in the face of the AWESOME. They made Barbossa a lot more likable and even made you feel a bit sorry for Davy Jones. Tia Dalma being Calypso was... sort of... I dunno. They could have done more with her, but didn't really. She got really big, turned into a bunch of crabs and then made a big whirlpool. Eh.
I really loved that Jack looked so stricken when Will was killed because, sure, he pretends not to care, but he cares a lot more than even he knows. So he decided that in order to save Will, he'd have to become the new Captain of the Flying Dutchman. It's a good thing the curse of looking like a bunch of fugly sea creatures stopped applying because Will was a good guy who actually intended on ferrying souls to the underworld like he was supposed to. Good on ya.
And that's enough thinking about the movie for me. Time for bed!

Either way I loved POTC3. I really need a pirate icon. =P
