antivirus/firewall; camera
Apr. 15th, 2007 01:09 pmWell, it's taken me about 2 hours to carve Norton Internet Security out of my system and get Avast! and Comodo installed. Avast is... weird. But I like all the shields -- email, p2p, web, and IM. With everything running (scanning included, as well as AIM, and a Firefox window), CPU usage seems to top out at 51%, so that isn't too bad. I was going to run an Avast! scan now, but it takes so fragging long (8 min for 1.4GB?!) that I'm probably just going to hold off and run it tonight before I go to bed.
Annnnd..... to celebrate the state tax refund, a refund for something else, and not having to pay Symantec for another year of service, I bought myself a shiny new Canon PowerShot S3. Yes. From NewEgg. Got a free Crucial 2GB SD card and using a promo code, got a free Transcend 1GB SD card for free. All together with shipping, it was about $325. Hurray!
... yep. No buyers guilt yet. This is good.
Next purchases for this camera: a gorillapod and some sort of camera bag (which I can probably get at Best Buy or Circuit City)

Date: 2007-04-16 03:40 am (UTC)I haven't actually even seen the camera in person yet. How does it compare size-wise to the Fuji that you have, just so I have a vague idea. I know it's going to weigh like a pound once batteries are in.
