Apr. 6th, 2007 10:49 amI have today off from work! Hooray!
Yesterday, I made up the time I was missing then ran off to
queenmaab's. We made calzones for dinner :D Didn't end up watching Firefly or Doctor Who, but while the Yankees game was on, we got a lot of work done on her website, which is of the good. I think it's mostly done now, just a few things to finish up. I'm excited and it's not even my site! XD
I'm still waffling on which anti-virus to go with. I think I've decided against Symantec Corporate as it doesn't really work much better than a combination of free anti-virus and anti-spy/adware. And Symantec products use way more resources than I think are necessary. besides, just to get the damn thing off my machine, I practically have to carve it out.
AVG seems to still be a favorite, but it doesn't have the best detection rate. Antivir seems a favorite as well, but Avast! is right in the middle with people saying it's great, but Antivir is better or that it's better than AVG. AVG only seems to offer a daily scan -- no scheduler -- but using the Windows scheduler you can set Avast! to a weekly schedule. AVG & Avast! have e-mail scanning, which Antivir does not -- this is an issue since I pull stuff off my domains and I don't even know what in there could be infected.
So. I guess I'm still waffling between AVG Free and Avast! 4 Home, though Avast! Is starting to pull ahead with it's IM, Web, and P2P shields (though the utorrent sites says Avast can kill it... so.. I dunno)
This really shouldn't be such a difficult decision. *facepalm*
