jeep; dvds; doctor costume

After work, I had to drop my Jeep off at the mechanic's for a check up. My mom insists that I have everything looked at before I drive down to Stony Brook. *shrug*

Stopped at BJ's on the way home for groceries. Of course I had to look at the LCDs (meh) and also check out the DVDs. Ended up getting the 15th Anniversary "Reservoir dogs" (Gas can edition!) and "Stay." I did decide while I was browsing that I'd just keep the full screen version of "About a Boy" I'd gotten yesterday. Oh such angst over such a small thing. Oh well.

My Tenth Doctor trench coat came in today. It is peeerrfect. Okay, it's totally not the right material or the right style, but I think it'll look fabulous since it fits me better and it actually much closer to the right color than it looked in the photos. I'm really, really pleased with it. I will probably do another Doctor photo shoot this weekend.

Other than that, I don't think anything interesting has happened today. I really need to work on a new art piece I want to be able to take to ICON, but I also need to work on the Lexx DVD cover for punslingerr. Hm.

I finally got around to hunting for tweed coats -- just a quick eBay search after I sought and purchased a green fairy skirt -- and discovered that there are multiple reasonable options for under $20. Don't think I'm buying just yet -- especially since I need to give myself another session of digging through screencaps examining the details of what I'm trying to match, between the hat and the coat -- but I found one I'm appallingly tempted by just because it has the dark-brown pocket flaps like the one I'm trying to match, even though as a ladies' coat it'll be closer to fitting me properly than the oversized coat I need for the costume. And I don't actually need a Four-looking coat as a winter coat.

Now is a good time to look for wool coats and stuff on eBay. Found a ton that I'd buy just to wear if I had the money. People getting rid of winter items, I guess.

Hm. If that coat is close enough to what you're looking for, I'd go for it. That's not a bad price if you can get it for that low.

The only thing that coat had that I was looking for was darker brown detailing in a few spots. Not only was it too small for what I need (which is supposed to be vastly oversized on me), it was too small for me to wear as a regular winter coat. I held off on making a purchase till I take a little time to examine the original coat in some caps or eps, and most of the ones I'd set on watch last week are probably ended now, but as easy as they were to find I'm not worried about doing a new search.
