work; fye; doctor who; tennant
Dec. 29th, 2006 10:12 pmWork today... well... after my normal duties, I spend 3 hours folding letter to be mailed. Exciting. Well, actually, it wasn't too bad. I like doing that sort of thing and I'm not ashamed to say that I am a letter folding machine :x I'm not sure what the count was, but at least three reams worth. It must have been that summer I spent at GED doing that sort of thing for 8 hours a day. Ugh.
At least I spent my whole day listening to Doctor Who audiobooks. Anthony Head does a better Rose voice than Tennant. Heh.
After work, I met up with my mom to have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. My first time there. It was pretty good. I had a meatloaf sandwhich and then a piece of tiramisu cheesecake. Mmmm tastey. After that, we headed to FYE to see if I could find anything to buy, but the FYE in Colonie Center is total crap. I'll need to make a run to teh Crossgates store as I know there are things in that store I want :D
Hm. Well, I did actually find a couple things I might like... Red Dwarf and Black Adder. All too expensive, of course. I also saw DVDs of the old Doctor Who episodes, but $30 for 2 hours of show is insane. I was sort of interested in the Cybermen storylines as well as the episodes with Romana. Hm. Dunno. I'm sure I could find them elsewhere cheaper.
Speaking of Who... all the rumors (well... just the one from the Sun) about Tennant leaving mid-season 4? I kind of think it's crap. People are saying that it's true because the Sun reported Eccleston and Piper's departure which both ended up happening, but I sort of think the circumstances are different. First, I'm not even sure if Eccleston was a Who fan, but I know the producers were excited because such a prominent actor was going to star. That said, the prominent movie star probably wanted to go off and do movies. As for Billie Piper... I'm thinking she didn't want to get stuck on the show and decided to ditch after two years (she's now regretting that). Tennant, though... from everything I've read he's a huge Who fan and he wanted to go into acting because of it. I really don't think he'd just jump ship so early and certainly not in the middle of the season because... hello, middle of the season. It's only 13 episodes a season and it doesn't make any sense for him to leave in the middle. End of, maybe, but not the middle. Besides, last week the Sun was saying he was definitely staying on and then this week they say he's leaving. Whatever. I think he's staying, but whatever the case is, I'd rather the media didn't blab about it, because it'd be more fun to be surprised.
In other Who-verse news, John Barrowman was joined in a civil partnership.
I'm now going to go lay down. Or knit some more.

Date: 2006-12-30 05:09 am (UTC)who do you like better, Eccleston or Tennant? I like Tenant, and want him to stay, but really miss Eccleston and wish he was still playing The Doctor. He brought a real energy and presence to the role. Tenant makes me believe he's The Doctor quite often, but Eccleston made me believe it all the time....
