mail; holiday; shopping
Dec. 9th, 2006 11:16 pmHad a strangely spontaneous day...
This morning I went to the post office and mailed out some things for the holiday, so the following people should be expecting mail:
crushw_eyeliner,
lilorphanannie,
jen_ella,
forcryinoutloud,
eiluned,
cassiejamie,
buhfly
Those of you who recieved a DVD -- no, those are not official releases, but I decided to make my own covers and they just looked so snazzy, I thought I would share.
I got to the mall about 15 minutes late, but Annalisa and Alexis were there waiting. They'd met already via me describing Alexis to Annalisa over the phone, who was bold enough to seek her out at the ticket counter. Heh.
We went and saw "The Holiday," which was actually pretty cute (hmm.. yes, cute). Jack Black was not annoying. Kate Winslet was sweet. Cameron Diaz was... Cameron Diaz. Jude Law was believable as the barslut, yet still strangely touching as the widowed father of two small girls. Huh. Go figure. Rufus Sewell was a perfect sleazebag, which he plays pretty often. Shannyn Sossamon! I love that she and Rufus are in the movie togther (well.. not ever on screen at the same time, but whatever).
Though, honestly, the whole houseswaping thing is just weird and I suspect there will now be a rash of these happening in real life if there isn't already, just because of this movie. How can you really just swap all your posessions with a total stranger you talked to for 5 minutes on a sketch chat thing. Blah.
After the movie, Annalisa and I did a fair bit of shopping. I got some stuff at Bath & Body Works... which was strangely difficult. After wandering some more stores, we decided to go and pick up Annalisa's friend, Ben, and head for something to eat. Ended up at Grandma's Pies where all three of us had meatloaf and then pie! I didn't want a whole pie, so just had a bit of Annalisa's. I think we were there a couple hours at least. It was a good time :)
We went to Michael's to look at crafty things. I picked up some gift bags and notecards from the $1 section and resisted the call of the yarn sale. Go me! Seriously, I have plenty already...
Am home now. Tired. Have checked my bank account and it's a good thing I get paid this coming week :x
