I didn't get up til just a little while ago. Glargh. Last night I planned on going to bed early, but ended up reading Leah and [livejournal.com profile] springwoof's The Body Holographic, which I really enjoyed. A lot. I love well-built future fics that have added history.

I am fairly amused with the whole video in Flash form thing, as it has allowed a lot of things to be put online. Namely... the SciFi Pulse where you can watch all sort of SciFi ads, interviwes and complete episodes. The quality is actually pretty good. Oh, hey look, Battlestar outtakes!

Tonight, I'm supposed to meet up with Berta and go do something.. but... yeah. We'll see. I had mentioned going to Emperor's, but I've been there the last two days and I think I'm over Chinese food for now :P

Yay! You liked it! So glad. That was the monster-fic I was asking if you had time to beta, remember? It took Leah & I months and months to finish, and we're so relieved that folks are liking it. Sorry we kept you up, though.

Oh, that's right! I'm kind of glad I didn't beta it, because when I beta I don't really allow myself to enjoy the fic as much since I'm poking at it :x

It is really an excellent fic and now I kind of want to know what happened when the Rodney AI came online....

I actually wrote a little of that...but Leah made me cut it because it made the pace of the scene drag a bit (she was right, as she so often is). What would you expect a RodneyAI to do when it came online?

Yeah, I agree that as part of the story, it would have dragged the pacing down. Of course, I wouldn't mind a little side snippet with it ;)

Hm. I think AI!Rodney would totally freak out... for however long it took him to realize that he could control and watch everything. Then he'd be all gleeful. I imagine that he'd enjoy scaring the crap out of people by sneaking up on them. Then Rodney would start missing food and being able to actually fix things with his own hands and the whole with John but not able to touch him... I suppose that's where the Carriers develop from.

exactly! that's just what Rodney would do: constant complaints and freaking out, followed by the greedy acquisition of knowledge (Ancient Database, all his to data-mine!), followed by gradual dissatisfaction with not being able to affect things physically, followed by intense research to *do* something about that.
