After work I was going to just head to the mall, but having talked to [livejournal.com profile] thebigfatman all day, I ended up at her place for a little while. That was fun. I like visiting their place :) If I didn't think they'd get sick of seeing me, I'd go over more often. *cough*

Then it was time to meet [livejournal.com profile] queenmaab & [livejournal.com profile] mcmi11ions for Boondock Saints. I checked a couple times for [livejournal.com profile] jessehogie, but I didn't see him. Hrm.

The movie was sold out and there was a moderate line by 7pm. Nice turn out. I was kinda not amused by the $25 Hot Topic Boondock tshirts a lot of people were wearing. Only because I'm bitter that BDS stuff is now carried by Hot Topic.

Okay, so, if I didn't think Troy Duffy was an egotistical asshole before I saw the Q&A segment, I certainly would now. The Boondock Saints is still a wicked awesome movie and it was really great to finally be able to see it on screen. I wasn't impressed with the 30 seconds of extra blood that was added to the "Director's Cut," but whatever. Still love this movie. A whole lot. It was really cool to experience the movie with an audiance who were occassionally repeating lines and laughed or cringed because they knew what was going to happen.

The cat scene continues to be both really, really disgusting and really, really funny.

The boys? Look even better on a large screen. Willem Dafoe? Looks scarier.

One thing Duffy mentioned during his intro was that the sequel rights are tied up in litigation. The script is done and supposedly the boys want to come back -- he says we should see something soon. Ooookay, if you say so. I am still skeptical.

"We're sorta like Seven Eleven: we may not always be doin' business, but we're always open."

[livejournal.com profile] queenmaab - I fixed the icon! :D Better?

And now... bed.

Yeah I am sorry about that. By the time I got home from work and the store it was almost 6 oclock, and I had to make dinner and everything cause I was starving. So I would have gotten there at 7 even if I didnt make the dinner...:(

No problem. If you didn't buy a ticket beforehand, they were sold out anyway.

i dreamed about this movie all last night! not nightmares, but i kept thinking about it. i think it was willem dafoe. he scares me. he scared me before i saw the movie, but he scared me even more, after. he WAS hilarious, though.

TD is definately full of himself. i also like how he SPOILED the ending in his interview. that's great asshole. didn't you think that *maybe* someone who'd never SEEN the movie might be SEEING it for the first time in the movies? hunh? hunh?! oy.

poor little kitty. :( i was amused that they covered the wall up with a picture, though.

the icon looks great!! i can't wait to u/l it tonight (*glares at stupid website restrictions*)!!

and i'll use this icon for [livejournal.com profile] mcmi11ions (who didn't spoil the movie for me this time! *bwaha haa haa*)

Yeah. Willem was pretty freaky in this movie.. especially at the end :x

Well, we all know Troy Duffy's an asshole, so spoiling isn't too far a stretch.

[livejournal.com profile] mcmi11ions is lame and doesn't even update his LJ anymore.

uh, he's been saying "You'll see something soon" on the BDS boards for five years now. I've been rather patient for the second movie, but at least tell us "It's gonna be a while" instead of "We've got the boys." or "We start filming this day." Bah.

Yeah, don't we know it. I've given up hope on the second one. *shrug* If it happens, then cool. If not, whatever.

Oh, I forgot. At one point he tells this story about some fan who said it didn't have to be Boondock, but Troy should just do something, which led to Duffy saying, "Boondock fans are hungry and Duffy is at the fucking grill!" That was just a real, "whoa. down, killer," moment.

Hmm, so the director's cut wasn't that impressive? Makes me feel better for having bought the original version only a couple of months before the upgrade came out, at least.

Yeah, it's not really noticeable. I would say if you're not a hard core Boondock Ssints fan, don't even bother with the Special Edition. Of course if you like Billy Connelly, there's a film commentary with him ^^
