I forgot to mention yesterday that I met queenmaab at Arlene's after work. She was kind enough to help me pick out mattes for the "Atene" prints I'm mailing to the SGA cast & crew. We decided on a blueish-grey, so I got 12 of those plus new blades for my knives, a large piece of matte board so I can have a backing for the matted prints, and a large self-healing cutting board. Yeah, I spent soooo much money there; it was a good thing I got paid this week.

The boss was not at work today. Uhm. It's a good thing I can generally block out distractions, so I did actually get work done XD After work, a bunch of us met up at Hiro's for teppanyaki (or, in yet another example of horrible Americanization, hibachi). T'was fun. I had too much food, but it was all yummy.

This most amusing thing I've seen on my flist all week: Why the Daedalus is a Gundam, Whose Cast Member's Sister Starred on Atlantis, or What David Hewlett Has To Do With InuYasha -- for all you anime, cartoon, and SGA fans.

So.... apparently JJ Abrams is working on the next Star Trek movie, focusing on Kirk & Spock during their Academy days. I should probably care more than I actually do.

Tomorrow, if it's not raining, I have to do yardwork. And then cut backing boards for the prints... and then actually print the prints.

Uuuuhhmm. I'm burying this at the bottom of the post. shoemaster and I are writing SGA/TE snippets. There are 8 there right now. *goes to watch more TE*

Uh, hold on, wait, back up, just a moment: You're sending Atene to the cast/crew? Of all the wonderful pieces you made, you're choosing the Fates-inspired? That fills me with so much glee that I might just be rendered speechless. Why? Why this one?

Uhmmm... yes? ^^* I probably should have told you and Auburn about it first. I picked this one to send because it's my favorite of all the art I've made recently plus it's SGA inspired (via fic, but still...). I think it would make a nice gift for the 8 actors, 2 directors, and 1 writer I've decided to send packages to this year. :)

No, no, no need to tell us about it. I'm just chuffed by default, and am sure the actors will be delighted. Uhm. If only they knew what inspired it ... ;o) Which they never will.

Uuuhmm... yeah. They won't ever really know. LOL I think I was just going to mention that "friends and I were working on some SGA inspired writing/artwork and this is what I came up with" or something to that effect. Vague, but just saying that Atlantis has been an inspiration.

Oh, don't get me wrong, this wasn't me being bitter. I'm okay with them not knowing. In fact, it's probably better if they don't know, or they might die of shock. ;o)

Great list - and I hope that you get notes in return, like you did last time.

Oh, no, I know you weren't being bitter. I wish they could know as well, but it is better if they don't ;) Even though it is a fantatic story and really well written, it just wouldn't be right for them to ever know about it XD

I hope I get notes back too, but mostly I just hope they get the packages. I'm still sort of doubting that all fo teh ones I sent last time made it.
