I haven't watched the Oscars in ages. So. *shrug* No spoilers on the winners, just really vague references and inane observations.
+ All the girls were wearing horribly boring dresses in the same shade of nude. Except Sandra had a nice navy or black dress... that had pockets.
+ Jon Stewart didn't do a horrible job, but... you know, it wasn't really spectacular. I enjoyed it, because I love Jon liekwhoa, but I do think some of his jokes fell flat on the audiance. Oh well. At least we have the Daily Show.
+ Charlize. I love you, I do, but what is that thing on your shoulder?
+ There were stuffed penguins on stage. Yes, I know there was the penguin movie, but the SGA part of my brain was giggling.
+ And the Project Runway part of my brain was giggling uring the pre-show when Michelle Willams was questioned about her yellow chiffon.
+ Jennifer Garner slipped on her way out, but the recovery was totally classy -- and adorable! ("I do my own stunts!")
+ No, really, no more Brokeback jokes. Please? They are just not funny anymore. At all.
+ I love how some people laughed at Jon's jokes, and some just sort of sat there, all uncomfortable. Like Jamie Foxx totally laughed when Jon cracked on Russell Crowe while a lot of others did not.
+ Big yay for all the winners. I can say I'm pretty satisfied with all the results and not once did I want to hit the winners because I just hate them so. Actually. Adaptive screenplay. Wow, could you be more unexcited?

Date: 2006-03-07 01:08 am (UTC)The choreography for the Crash song kinda freaked me out.

Date: 2006-03-06 06:37 am (UTC)Fortunately, I don't care and would probably have looked up the winners anyway, but I'm still cranky with the rest of them on general principles.
Anyway, thankyou for courtesy and all that, not that I expected anything less from you.

Date: 2006-03-06 06:54 am (UTC)I was just happy P&P didn't win anything. I'm still offended that it got nominated for costumes and art direction and Kiera Knightley... ugh.
Where has all the talent gone?!

Honestly? There was a lot more talent at the Oscars this year than some of the years past.
