hvcc craft fair

Back from the HVCC craft show. Didn't find too much there are is was all country crafts, but did manage to find soaps! It's a company called Simple Scents Australia - very yummy natural soaps that are really well priced. I got 5 soaps and a large sized body butter for $20. Also picked up a set of Cool Downs, which I saw on QVC a while back and looked pretty good, especially for hot weather. Uhm. Didn't hurt that the guy who came over to help was cute. *snicker*

Wandered through the mall for a while, but didn't buy anything. Go me :-P When I got home, I had lots of fun things in the mail - more soaps from Don't Be a Dirtbag and DVDs from Amazon :D Life Before This and Chain of Fools! Yay! Something to watch when I'm doing some web stuff later on.

Hm. Think now I'm going to get something to drink and then clean my room a bit as my SG1 torrents are sort of limping along. *wanders off*

Okay, the flashfic admins dig the idea and will make an announcement for us when the challenge is over :)

Cesperanza suggest that we allow authors the option of only letting us link, which I sort of mostly agree to, so I've sort of ammended our guidelines with three archiving choices to allow maximum participation:

1) Full archiving (complete fic posted on site; most preferable)
2) Blurb only (only headers, notes and a blurb archived on site)
3) No archiving (posting/linking fic in comm only; will be added in comm's memories, but not to the site)

For the third option, we'll just have a link on the front page somewhere to the community's memories where only the non-archived fic will be kept.

Maybe for the memories we could have a category specifically for those that don't want their fics archived on the website but I'd still like to add all fics to the memories--I'm kinda anal when it comes to that *snerk* :P

I can't wait! I'll work on the site layout(s) tomorrow. I suddenly had visions of doing site skins so people could change how it looked...

speaking of... could you make me a banner for the site? like the mini graphic you made for the user info. We can use it on both the comm as a header graphic and as an alternate layout for the site. Any size you want. I'll build a layout around it *g*

Well, for the comm definitely something in that style. No pictures would be all right since we're not pairing biased.

Layouts by pairing for the site would be cool :) if you want to make a few header images for that, I wouldn't mind ;) the size ranges should be between 500-700 pixels wide, and any height you want. I'll pull layout colors from the graphics you give me :)

I made two variations of a banner for the site...let me know if you wanna change something on it.

Ooo... I like the second one! :D And really, the "Harlequin Romance" tag I threw up there is so stupid we can totally change that. I like "where the romance never dies" so much better XD
