scifi friday: ff 1.04, sg1 9.05, sga 2.05
Aug. 12th, 2005 10:01 pmDo I still need spoiler cuts for Firefly? *shrug* It's minor anyway.
Firefly: Bushwacked

I somehow missed this episode on first run. And then on subsequent viewings of the DVDs and finally watched when Iwas at QM's. Weird.
Okay, everyone. If Jayne is scared of something? You all might want to be a bit freaked out too.
Kaylee: "'Sides, if I mess up, it's not like you can yell at me."
This is definitely one of the more dramatic episodes, what with the killing of the people on the Reavers and stuff.
Kaylee: But Captain, did you hear what that purple belly called Serenity?!"
Mal: Shut up!
The interrogation scene was cool. I liked how each one responsed to the questions. Especially Kaylee! She was totally freaking the guy out with the engineering speak.
Serenity preview!! Reavers! Sweeeet!

Cameron: Are you bored of bothering Jackson?
Cameron: I'm going to talk to Landry.
Vala: Why?
Cameron: Because anyone who trusts you is obviously in a great deal of danger.
Yay Ben & Claud! It's so weird watching them act together as two different characters. Well, one different (Vala) and one sort of similar (Cameron). But yes. I like the different sort of dynamic these two have.
Why do Cameron and Daniel still listen to Vala? It makes me want to grab them and shake them and scream, "what are you, new?!" Or they should stop acting surprised whn she does stupid things.
Hehehe! Vala as Katesh! Is so funny! She is going to get so screwed over by this. She plays the god role pretty well, though. Ah, okay, she really was taken by a Ga'ould.
Vala: I have heard better plans.
Cameron: I kind of like it.
Vala: Shut up!
Hah. Yes. Vala just likes the shiney baubles. And Iove all Cameron/Vala scenes.
Hahahaa. Way to be trusting, Daniel.
Vala sure knows how to wear those uber jackets. She looks hot. What size did they give her? Extra small??
A Mal Doran! Hehehe! And the begrudging cutting down of the claims to four.
Creepy, creepy Orii Prior.
This philosophical debate between the Orii and Daniel is very interesting. Daniel's so going to lose, but it's interesting.
Daniel: Knowledge is power, but how you use that power defines whether you are good or evil.
The Lam & Landry show is annoying. Ah ha. Lam is his daughter.Or not. I guess. Still confused. Ah! Yes, Landry is her father. We actually got a straight answer.
Vala: You need to work on your anti-Orii speech.
I do like that Vala is trying to heal people and that she has the appearance of caring. She might actually care, even. Aww, look! She feels bad!
Those Orii are bastards. The villagers have to know that the Orii Prior .
Uh. Who was that dude? The one who was finally crashing? Because he had a black tank and possibly dog tags (or tubes?) and spikey hair. Was that Mitchell? Gah. Confusing shots.
Oh. It was Mitchell. Weird. At point did he get sick? They should have showed that, really.
YAY! Team next week!

Why does Ronon have a double breasted suede trench coat? Meh.
Hahaha! Goldilocks comparison's and McKay interested in the food Ronon said was tastey. And Ronon was being funny and trite.
Okay, the security vessel says leading to the city, but I can only assume that's not a good thing. You know, what with the preview.
Yay! A city that has tech more advanced than Earth! I am fairly chuffed.
Heh. I like how John lied about the destruction of Atlantis and that they're a group that escaped. Good thinking. Don't let McKay fuck that up.
This city sort of freaks me out. A wee bit too perfect. Perfectly friendly societies are always kind of suspicious.
Ahahaha! Nice American potshot from McKay about the death penalty.
Okay. Sheppard. Have we forgotten that the ship has a cloak|? You so should have cloaked before hand. Also. Shields? Do you not have any? Cripes, man.
And then the prisoners turn out to be okay people who are just trying to survive the Wraith, right? Sort of predictible and I've waited until now to call it.
Or not.mmmm... bondage
McKay: What am I Macguyver? Fix it with what?
Coffee cup boy has a uniform! And his jacket is green! *is amused*
Fuck Lorne. Where's Bates? Bates would go in and kick some ass.
Sheppard: I am beat up, tied up, and couldn't order a pizza right now, but if you need it to be, yeah, it's an order.
Ronon: Okay.
Ooo.. lead prisoner has a good sense of McKay. He sees what we all see - McKay is loud and whiney on the outside, but inside it that guy's who's actually pretty heroic and noble.
McKay: How ironic to have been shot down by the cast of Gilligan's Island then, huh?
Choose? Choose Ronon! :D Gah! Shep! Shep just gave Rodney and interesting look as he was whining about not being able to fix it.
Sheppard to Ronon: Take it easy, Chewie, You're going to cut your damn hands off.
McKay: I just said I couldn't fix it.
Sheppard: He will. You suck at lying, Rodney.
Oh, busted. They figured out the radio. I can't decide if the squirrely little scientist
Ronon: I was beginning to think you were afraid to fight.
Sheppard: Well, no I'm just naturally lazy, but I will if I have to and it's starting to look like we have to.
Ooooh! They are in partnership with the Wraith! That is so fucked up.
OMG. And the Wraith is eating actual food.
Yay, we have our Rodney back! Snappy and snarky and YAY RODNEY!
Okay, maybe I like Lorne a little bit. He might possiblybe growing on me like Bates did. Also, Weir kicks ass. She so calm and quiet most of the time that I sort of forget.
Awww... they're taking the grubby little spazoid scientist with them. Also, go Sheppard with your last minute plan. You fuckers in the city deserve what you get.
I like that Atlantis will do dark endings like this. SG1 might try to save everyone - the Atlantis crew is out to save themselves, and maybe others if it's kind of convenient.
Uhm. Is next week the episode where McKay does the really bad thing?

Date: 2005-08-13 06:29 pm (UTC)It is. And I'm really, really afraid what that will do to the dynamic between Sheppard and him.
Don't tear them apart, writers!

Date: 2005-08-14 04:41 pm (UTC)I had the same thought. He's the new guy and McKay doesn't know him as well as John and Teyla. But I like how McKay automatically said he couldn't choose.
Is next week the episode where McKay does the really bad thing?
That's the one. I'm staying optimistic and hoping things don't get too screwed up in the end.
