My last correspondences with HostPC...

I didn't hear anything from them all day Friday or through the weekend, so I dropped another note saying that I changed the file name as requested and that I was waiting for a decision.

I'll waive the restoral fee - but that form is defiantely not secure at this point. It needs to be replaced with a secure contact form. Any of the formmail scripts can be exploited, and literally every version has - especially the Matts Script one's

I'm more concerned about your comment "'m becoming increasingly frustrated with the level of communication and the quality of your customer service. "

Can you give me any more details? I don't see any other tickets from you in the past 6 months, nor any forum posts that indicated an "issue" .... was there a problem?

---------

from me, Nov 8 2004:

I have had more troubles with this hosting company than either of the other two companies that I've used for the last three years *combined*. Many friends I recommended this service to have already dropped their accounts and moved on, and lately I've been considering the same. While your outages are far and few, the numerous server changes were highly inconvenient and caused problems on a few occasions. I didn't open a ticket as they were things I could fix myself, but still - inconvenient. This incident especially has caused me to rethink my subscription to your service.

When I signed up for this service, formmail scripts were not forbidden. I do not visit your forum regularly and I suspect many of your clients don't either. The least someone could have done was e-mail me and let me know the script was a security problem. I would have changed it with no fuss. Even an e-mail to tell me my account had been suspended would have been something. The issue I have here is that I was never contact. It states in your forum that the first warning would be deactivation of the script and the owner would be contacted. That didn't happen.

Well, the last thing I'd want to do is have you unhappy with our service, so I've canceled your account, and issued a refund for the unused time.

Good luck with your new hosting arrangements.

Wow. Well, way to solve the problem. While you're at it, please cancel my other account with you for Signalroom.net (under the admin e-mail amezri@astrumignis.com) as now I am more than happy to take the rest of my business elsewhere.

What a bunch of fuckers. You want to be an asshat? I can be one, too.

[Edit: Two minutes after I added that response, the asshole suspended my signalroom.net domain. So I logged into paypal and cancelled the yearly subscription.]

Cool! Don't worry about paying right away. Lemme know when you have the money to spare and we can work it out. :)
