Fox Kids Discuss the Election

This morning the 9 year old boys in my class were discussing the election. Normally, I discourage political discussions because during this campaign, the conversation usually ends in a fight. However, today I let them speak freely and this is what I heard. 11/3/04

Boy 1: "Bush won because Kerry is a traitor. He spied for the enemy in an old war. Really, my Father told me. Kerry was going to pass a law making boys marry boys."
Boy 2 : "That's a lie! Kerry is a war hero with medals."
Boy 3: "No way! He had long hair and became a hippy and could never be a hero. He's French too. I swear."
I quickly intervened and asked where they had gotten the information.
Boy 1 " It's true. It's from Fox News. My Father told us."
I explained to the class that being French was not a negative trait but merely a nationality.
Boy3: " It is bad. France is our enemy. They hate us."
Boy1:" Yeah, we hate France back. Fox rules, man."
Boy1 and Boy 2 high five in agreement.

Fox spreading good conservative values to our kids.

That kid must be related to my highschool student whose daddy told him that the world is only 5000 years old and that fossils and stuff are all faked by the 'Jewish Scientific Conspiracy" which I am apparanly a part of because I teach evolution in my classroom.

Fox isn't the ones really scaring me here these kids parants are. I mean really "Kerry was gonna pass a law to make men marry other men". Yes because Kerry really has the power to make people turn gay really he does. This is what scares me about the youth of today. And I can't believe I just typed that setence.
