amezriI wanted to thank everyone who participated (is still participating) in the gun control discussion yesterday. It was nice to be able to have opposing viewpoints expressed without people getting angry and yelling :-P
Paul Bettany was on Jay Leno last night. I love him. It's not that he's uber-good looking - it's just all about the snark. I didn't know that he was married to Jennifer Connelly. Heh. Bettany himself said that he was the typical, pastey British man and that he has the "body of a reader," so training for Wimbeldon sucked and he hated being fit XD Said he became the men he hated and all the men his wife avoided dating. *hee* It was entertaining.
Interesting article from Wired.com this morning: Librarians battling the US Patriot Act: [Jessmyn West] worries that a researcher could check out a book on Islam and suddenly end up on the no-fly list, forced to take the Greyhound with Teddy Kennedy for the rest of her life. Or an HIV-positive teen living in a conservative community could be outed after reading about the disease. If this sounds far-fetched, two years ago, in Punta Gorda, Florida, a British man was arrested in a public library after visiting websites that posted material on mineral supplements and the world's first chemical generator of electricity, the Baghdad Battery.
Also, Kerry Hires Woman Fired for Bumper Sticker. It's such an obvious stunt, but i love that fact that it's basically a huge kick in the teeth to the woman's former boss. I'm sure he thought she'd just suffer with her joblessness.
Yesterday I did three loads of laundry and cleaned out some clothes I haven't worn in ages. Hopefully I can find somewhere to put the last two loads of laundry I need to do :-P
ACS took out my loan payment - so I'm $150 poorer. I should probably deposit that money my grandfather gave me for my brithday, but I'll just end up taking it out for the NYC trip, so.. yeah.. nevermind. Also got a notice yesterday that my health insurance went up by $20, so that's great. Thankfully, my mom said she'd cover me this month.
Meh. Food.
