"We've got an issue in America. Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." [full story]
Really, I don't like Kerry that much, it's just that I hate Bush and his incompetence more. A LOT MORE. How do your wranglers let you go out there and say stupid shit like that?!
Kerry says things like, "In the years ahead, we will share its lessons with our children and grandchildren. We will tell them that on Sept. 11, ordinary men and women became heroes at a moment's notice -- and so can you. We will tell them that we were strong because we took care of each other -- and so can you." (during a 9/11 memorial at the Boston Opera House)
While Bush says things like, "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." (at the signing of H.R. 4613, the Defense Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2005)
I know politicians are no good, dirty, backstabbing liars. That's the nature of their profession. Yeah, some are not as bad as others, but in politics that's what you have to do. You need to appease the groups that might help you in the future. You need resources and connections and you have to be able to manage them. You need to be able to talk yourself out of stuff before resorting to blowing things up.
Part of the reason I always disliked Bush was that he just seemed really dim-witted. He makes up words and he says stuff that makes you wonder if he even went to high school, never mind college. Being a leader is not only about policy, but I feel it's also about your presence. Bush, to me (and a lot of the world), is a smarmy, sleazy, moronic, hick. He's always got a stupid smile on his face and he can never answer a question properly. He's butchering our language and he's an embarrassment as a public speaker. I cringe when he's on TV. I don't want a leader that the rest of the world points and laughs at while they wonder if the nutter is going to try to blow them up.
