Oh yeah, I forgot. They announced the winner of the Resident Evil Poster Contest.

In the words of [livejournal.com profile] buhfly: YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME.

Good job, people. Way to pick a suckyass poster!

It actually looks neat (albeit simple) until you notice the stupid fucking patternthingy. Ew. This makes me fear for the Silent Hill movie poster. :

Exactly. I sort of liked the look of that one, so I clicked to enlarge. Then I wanted to claw my eyes out. That is going to look so hideous as a full sized poster unless a good graphics designer goes in and fixes it.

Unless the Silent Hill movie poster is being done the same way, I wouldn't worry too much. Course, professional movie poster designers have been known to f*** up...

What the shit? That's not even the best poster on the PAGE, much less out of everything that was entered. Your first one was far, far better than any of those, but especially the winner.

Who judges these things?! Geez.

The first poster contest had a far better result.

The finalists were picked by a panel of judges. People voted for the winner out of the finalists. This just proves that the general masses have NO TASTE.

Don't blame the general masses, blame the judges for giving the general masses shit to work with! :)

*whines* But there were better ones out of the finalists.

I actually kind of like that one when its thumbnailed...cuz the scanlines aren't like eighteen inches thick. But then you enlarge it....and blech.

Yeah, I agree. The scanlines are my only serious eye-clawing issue with it.

Well, I think that in print, it may not be as harsh looking as it does on screen, but who knows. All the choices sucked though, especially when you compare them to the winner from the LAST contest they did. My boyfriend's entries were better than these...(he's got them posted in his journal, [livejournal.com profile] qag, if you're interested in looking them up. It's a pretty recent post. :) )

Yergh, wtf is those things? Yours were much better, yes. I might be a sucky graphic designer, but even I could do better than those.
