Went and saw the new Harry Potter movie with queenmaab and her friend. It was as good as I expected, from all the spoilers I'd been reading. Gary Oldman is decidely un-Gary-Oldman-like as Sirius. It's weird seeing the kids grown up - especially since the last HP movie I saw was the first one.

One question for you HP people - I know Malfoy is Harry's archnemesis, but.. uhm.. I don't remember him being such a ponce. Erm. What's up with that? Harry's school bully a pansy!

And a random thought: Snape likes to be the mean, nasty professor who enjoys making Harry's life miserable, yes? Yes. I do love how as soon as he saw Lupin as the werewolf, he shielded the kids. Awwww! Snape, you big softy :-P

Anyway. Good stuff. Great director. They were wraiths, yo! Because of some of you, I was expecting Remus Lupin to be a) Ewan McGregor and then b) Keifer Sutherland. Why did I think Keifer was in the film...? No matter.. I did't really know what was going on anyway.

PS - Buckbeak was kewl.

Oh. And the MTV Movie Awards... Right. Lindsay Lohan needs to go away. Far, far away. She's not funny and she seems like a petty little bi-yotch. But it's not like I know her personally. Loved Dom's little running on stage to accept the best action sequence award. Hated Michael Moore's self-promotion. I used to like Kirstin Dunst but now I just want to stab her. I *heart* Jake. Johnny's acceptance speech was so typical and blase. Yay for LotR winning best picture and for Sean not making a big political speech. It was all about bad jokes and pretty people.

Anyone know where they held this year's Movie Awards? I'm assuming NY, but I don't know. I'm just asking because when they were filmed on Sunday, Jimmy Falon had also presented at the Tonys. Erm.. but I don't know if that was live or not XD

As far as I know, the MTV Awards were at Universal here in California. At least, that's what the people's around ehre told me. ;)

yeah, malfoy is a little spoiled brat that whines a lot. it's a lot weirder to see it in person, in the flesh, tho. *ick*

draco is a whiner, but he also isn't as much of a pussy as the 3rd movie made him seem. esp b/c there were no professors around and it was HERMIONE, who, to him, is a much lesser organism. i just read the damn book a month ago, but i couldn't tell you if that scene was in the book or not, and if so, how it went...

there are some people snapes hates more than harry. like lupin & sirius. but the more i read, the more i think that snape doesn't blindly hate him, but that some of it is feigned for effect, some is transferred from daddy-o, and some is because, admittedly, harry has a problem with arguing with the man. which doesn't help.

i totally forgot about the movie awards last night! dammit!! must find out when they are re-airing it...

I didn't like the 3rd movie at all. I kept waiting for it to end, I'd have asked to leave early if my movie companion didn't appear to be enjoying themselves.

I taped the Movie Awards last night because I was headed for bed just as they were coming on. Need to find out tonight if the tape worked! (I shut the TV itself -- but not the DVD/VCR or the cable box -- off, and it's taped that way just fine in the past, but I can't recall if I've done it that way with the DVD/VCR rather than just with my old VCR...)
