Angel 5.13: Why We Fight
Feb. 11th, 2004 10:15 pmAnd I'm not sure it had anything to do with why... just dangling Fred, Wes, and Gunn from wires.
Dude. I so knew it. Promos are usually deceptive but last week's was pretty spot on. Angel on a German U-boat headed for the US during WWII. Okay, so the Spike thing was a bit off but, really.
They're wanking their own timeline again. Also, when he vamped the guy... doesn't that usually take at least a few hours to kick in?
I don't know whatelse to say except for the fact that it was anti-climactic and I can only midly rationalize the sewer years by saying that, yes, Angel hid underground and was all guilty for vampiring the sailor. This does not explain the Hyperion and Sinatra years. Nor does it explain a 5 minute summary dragged out into 42 minutes.
Next week: dude.. what kind of drugs are the writers smoking? Although Spike's "You're a wee puppet man!" was pretty entertaining.

Puppets scare me.

Well, at the start of the sub thing, the Americans said there was about 2 days of air left... then Angel turned up, and they were able to get underway pretty quickly, I think - certainly seemed that way. Then they were hit, Angel vamped Larson ... and next we see, Spike is saying the air is pretty much gone, so the two days must've passed. So my reckoning was that that accounts for the vamping-delay factor, as I wondered about that when Angel first went to vamp him.
As for the whole Angel's lifestyle thing? WTF? I have no clue either. Unless their idea is that he gradually became more and more transient (flat -> hotel -> streets) as time went by, for whatever reasons. Eh. *shrugs*
My main question, though, was - what about Dru?! I mean, a passing line about how she hadn't gone with Spike to the party would've been enough! *pout*
