Can't go two days without a post, now can I?

Yesterday I took a little trip to Oneonta. It was much shorter than I had originally planned and my father insisted on driving. Yay? My brother and his friends roamed around campus while I tried to catch up with people. Didn't get to see everyone :-/ Carrie was on duty, but I was already running late. Lame. I know. Did get to see Teri, Xiomara, [livejournal.com profile] bonereaper, [livejournal.com profile] theetherealdawn and several people at the Help Desk. Jeff & Kara said they'd be up in Albany soonish and we could all go out. I need to get back there again sometime soon. For an overnight stay if I can.

On the drive back, my father somehow got into politics, which is never a good conversation for me and him to have. Suddenly he starts blaming the Jewish people for wanting to keep the land they "stole" from the Arabs and that is causing the problems now. Uhm. If the Jewish people beat the Arabs in a war and won land, why would they want to give it back? I sure as hell wouldn't want to give it back. Clearly, the white people didn't want to give back the land they took from Native Americans. But I digress... regardless of whether or not there are many Jewish people in government, you can't blame it on them because they are Jewish. And anyway, the pResident is Christian. So, I believe, are most of the people in high-ranking government positions. They are either Jewish or Christian. So I told me father that I don't really care about the Jewish people because they may be money-hungry (stereotype, yes), but at least they're not running around trying to "save" everyone. My father gets all pissed and says, "what are you talking about? it's all the jews!" I just look at him and ask him to shut up for a second and name one top government official that is not Jewish or Christian. Hell, name anyone that works in politics that's not a member of a Judeo-Christian faith. I for one can't name one Buddhist or Muslim or, hell, atheist. Certain none of our "leaders" have been anything other than Christian. please correct me if I'm wrong. Have any of our presidents ever been Jewish? From what I can recall, they were all "good Christians." Anyway, that comment shut him up for the rest of the drive home. That was a good 20 minutes of him not knowing what to say. He really never thought about the fact that no one of his religion was representing him in this country he loves so much XD

Spent nearly all day on TOMINATION, so go have a look if you haven't. If you have, go again!

Tomorrow I've got work in the morning, then the store party at night. Should be an interesting time. There are only a handful of people going that I'm interested in interacting with. Oh well. I wonder how many times I'm going to have to say that I don't drink. That will be interesting.

Have list of things to do today, but really haven't done all of them... or any of them...

Not only were all of the presidents "good Christians," the were all, save Kennedy, Protestants. I'd love to see someone of another faith get elected. But somehow most of America seems to have forgotten about the little thing called "separation of church and state."
