Mall shopping. Wheee! Got two cord pants from Delia's - on sale for $15 each. Also got a few things from Macy's. Big yay to the no tax thing.

Mom took us to see "The Medallion." Saw trailers for "Underworld" and "Once Upon a Time in Mexico." Mom might take us to see "Underworld" because she recognized Scott Speedman from Felicity. Yay! "Once Upon A Time in Mexico" looks like a good action flic, but the plot seems a bit weak. Then again, it's basically "Desperado 2." Right.. so on with the Chan... Not one of Jackie's best films, but a good one. Poor guy's getting up there in age, so they're got him on wires and stuff now. I wasn't too fond of some of the shots they did and the really irksome thing was the obvious dubbing of Cantonese lines. Glargh. I detest dubbing. Subtitles would have been lovely. The fight scenes were still good. Slapstick Interpol guy Watson was funny for about 5 minutes, but then became annoying. Wait, no, I lied, he was still good for a laugh or two. Actually this Jackie movie had more laughs than the last few I've seen. Hrm.. they never did explain why Watson's wife had a stash of fire arms and why she knew how to use them. Come to think of it, I don't know why their son was a little white kid. Asians has dominant traits, so a mixed child should look more Asian... and not have light hair and pure Caucasian features. *shrug* Just a nitpick. The bringing back to life and destroying your old body thing is kind of weird. Um.. I know I'm going to get this on DVD. Heh. It's just one of those movies. Also, the outtakes with Claire Forlani slapping (instead of a stage-slapping) Jackie are totally worth it.

My brother and I saw John Rhys-Davies' name and the opener and both shouted "Gimli!" Julian Sands was an odd, but good, bit of casting as Snakehead, especially since I recognized the guy's voice from the Jackie Chan Adventures (cartoon). Loved the cameos by Nicholas Tse and Edison Chen as two waiters ^_^ Makes me want to watch Gen-X Cops again.

I'm hoping the DVD release will be the uncut version (~30 extra minutes) with subtitles because this film was seriously missing plot and pacing.

Before the movie we went to the food court to grab a quick lunch at our usual Chinese-run Cajun food place XD I was amused with the small child - couldn't have been older than 5 - running the register with minimal supervision from her older sister (erm.. possibly mother) and actually being able to give us back our change. Well mostly.. she had some trouble counting to 93 cents, but hell, I have trouble with that too. LOL So, yeah, I was again amused by the intelligence of Asian children. Maybe not because we're born smarter, but because our parents place ridiculously high demands on us... that makes us smarter and more capable XD Of course, then some of us crack when we turn into teenagers and regress into under-educated ghetto posers. It's sad.

Watched "Boondock Saints" again tonight. My brother hadn't seen it, so he hung around. I think he liked it. That movie gets better everytime ^_^ The sequel needs to be out, like, now.

Working tomorrow. Blah. I have no time to read friends page and respond to most e-mail, so if you're waiting for a response, please forgive me ^_^* Justin needs to take some of my hours for next week. He really, really does.

I know nothing about cars. So Mike is trying to explain it to me. It's sad.. 'cause I dunno what the hell he's talking about. And he's now comparing motors to DVD sets. Ha!

Helping [livejournal.com profile] alanafish with something, then it's off to bed.
