Jul. 27th, 2003 10:55 pmBefore I get to them, there are few things I want to note for anyone interested:
This week's TV Guide cover features a Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks of Stargate SG-1. Extensive article inside, including confirmation of the spin-off, Stargate: Atlantis. (I'm sorry.. for this and Tremors we lose Farscape?! What. The hell.) I can probably snag a couple extra copies for anyone outside the US who would like one, just let me know before Tuesday.
David Boreanaz fans: he's signed for "The Crow: Wicked Prayer," the 4th movie in the series. He's also going to be in Dido's video for "White Flag," the first single off her new album. Also, why did I have no clue that he voiced Squall in the North American version of "Kingdom Hearts"? Not that I have a PS2 to play it anyway...
New episodes of X-Men: Evolution are starting again on Saturday, August 2. 10:30amEST on Kids!WB. First new episode is "X23" and I believe it's the one introducing a new Weapon X character. The WB is also showing old episodes weekdays at 3:00pmEST
Anyway. Memes. These have been circulating and I wanted to do them, so.. here they are.
--------------------
Create-Your-Own League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Rules:
1. Choose five to seven characters.
2. They may be from books, movies, comics, TV shows, games, and real life--but no traditional superheroes.
3. They may be from any place in the universe, any time.
4. You must identify the recruiter, the villain, and the leader, and there must be at least one female.
5. Optional, you may identify their main mode of transportation.
Recruiter: Anita Blake (Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter by Laurell K. Hamilton)
Vampire hunter and reanimator.
Strengths: Shoots first and takes names later. Excellent in close combat situations. Possesses various magical abilities as well as superhuman traits.
Weaknesses: She's a sex fiend. Has several personal issues that need to be worked out.
Villain: F.W. Colqhoun ("Ravenous")
Steals a person's strength by eating their flesh.
Strengths: Highly intelligent, damn near immortal. Converts people easily by nearly killing them, then feeding them human flesh.
Weaknesses: Can be killed like any normal human - provided he doesn't have a chance to feed.
The League:
1. Darla (Angel)
Vampire, human, vampire again.
Strengths: Superhuman strength, speed, sight, smell, hearing. Highly intelligent. Ability to sacrifice herself for the greater good. Excellent tracker- what with the superhuman senses.
Weaknesses: Dead, but for the right price, W&H can bring her back, I'm sure. Likes to play with her food.
2. Sydney Bristow (Alias)
Super spy. Former double agent.
Strengths: Trained in many forms of martial arts and numerous types of weaponry. Above average strength and agility. Uncanny ability to escape from dangerous situations unharmed.
Weaknesses: Quick tempered. Cannot follow orders. Is sometimes ditzy.
3. Ash ("Army of Darkness")
Your average middle-America guy who has a chainsaw for an arm.
Strengths: Um.. yelling and waving around weapons. Plus the chainsaw, which is good for hacking up bodies.
Weaknesses: Not the smartest, so he tends to say/do the wrong thing, putting himself and others in mortal danger. If only he'd just write it down...
4. D ("Vampire Hunter D")
Dhampir (half-vampire, half-human). Son of Dracula.
Strengths: Weapons expertise as well as an array of magical talismans. His hand is host to a demon/parasite with seperate powers from his own.
Weaknesses: Too much heat/sunlight paralyzes him.
5. John Crichton (Farscape)
Astronaut definitely lost and far from home.
Strengths: Crazy plans that always seem to work.
Weaknesses: Crazy plans that always seem to result in his being shot at. Or frozen. Or people getting killed.
Transportation: Talyn (Farcape), a hybrid Leviathan vessel with powerful cannons and a mind of his own

Here are quotes from some of my favorite movies. Leave a comment guessing what movie they're from. No cheating. Only answer what you really know, please ^_^
1. "He's liiiicking me!"
2. "See this? This is my boom stick! The 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?"
3. "The King's stinking son fired me, and thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you're at it, why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it? We're closed!"
4. "Let them pass that law and they'll have you in chains with a number burned into your forehead."
5. C1: "Well, the rabbit gets fucked." C2: "... proper fucked?" C1: "Yes, before 'zee Germans' get there."
6. "You know what's a weird word? Fork. Oh my God, someone ate my entire pie! I don't know how that happened!"
7. "Still fighting the good fight? From here it looks like they're not playing by your rules. Maybe it's time to play by theirs."
8. "In a thousand years, there will be no men and women, just wankers, and that's fine by me."
9. "Listen asshole, I've got your daughter here and I'm gonna send her back in pieces if... OH! I'm sorry madam. No I haven't got your daughter here, I've got someone else's. No were not married. Yes, I've read the same thing, it's very hard to find suitable young men these days. Well I'm sure your daughter's very nice, in principle I've got no objection to meeting her..."
10. "No, not again! I...why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window!"
Right. time for bed now. Laundry and stuff tomorrow. Whee! :-P
