Operation Freedom Fries?
Mar. 20th, 2003 10:11 amWoke up really early this morning. Have to shower, get dressed, and get my new keychain drive from the Union. Eee! In more somber news, the invasion of Iraq goes on. Surprisingly, only 16 Iraqi civilians have died - well, that's the released number. Since the US has an even tighter reign on the media than it did during the last Gulf War, it's hard to know what the real count is.
Here's my question: If Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and bio weapons and all that other stuff that he claimed to have, don't you think maybe he'd at least start using some of that stuff? Especially bio-weapons on our troops.
I've also heard that to speak out against the war during war time is an act of sedition under the Patriot Act and can result in arrest, indefinite detention, a secret trial before a military tribunal, and execution (though I could be confusing two seperate things). How fun. Hey, can we arrange to have that done before my test next week?
If war comes over here, I say fuck it. I'm just going to hope that a weapon lands right on top of me so I won't have to deal with it.
Info Links:
+ Thermobaric weapon being designed in New Jersey (oddly remeniscent of the Rambaldi device in "Firebomb")
+ Hmm.. What to call this invasion? "Operation Wag the Dog"?
+ Blix Criticisez US impatience
+ War draws condemnation (even the Chinese say the US violated International Law)
+ Iraq fires missles after U.S. targets Saddam
Okay, I'm done with this. Off to get ready for my day.

Ah yes, the Patriot Act, the ultimate excuse to eliminate our rights. Say one wrong thing and they can throw you in jail and make you Bubba's bitch. Death would be a blessing.
Saddam may have weapons of destruction or what not...but according to the government, he's already dead and someone's filling in...so what do we know anyway?
I personally couldn't give a crap about any of it.

It's on msnbc.com's website that a body double replaced Saddam in making that speech for Iraq to attack America this morning. They claim they are in "debate" as to whether that was him or not. Hell, they think they got him already...I can't explain the whole theory, but needless to say, it's a retarded one.
Also, there are likely weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. How do I know this? Because America GAVE THEM those weapons back when Reagan was president to fight Iran. So they are there. How stupid is it that our government wasted money that we need to feed the children to give these countries weapons to eventually fight us??
God Bless America

Date: 2003-03-20 08:59 am (UTC)I've been wondering along the same lines - particular thinking thoughts that, since Bush's speech was broadcast and many warning leaflets dropped in Iraq, and Saddam knew he wasn't going to leave, doesn't it seem odd that HE didn't pre-empt our pre-emptive strike with one of his own?
