Just came back from Walmart where I dropped $17 for some needed supplies. Decided not to pay $10 for the USB extension cable. Why would I need one of those, you ask? Because I just ordered one of these! The cheapest I've seen so far and the reviews were all really good. This will be essential when I need to transfer files between the stupid lab machines and mine. Eye=geek.

Just ordered food from Sal's 'cause I'm starving. Should be here in half an hour. Then I'll bunker down to do some reading before tonight's Alias. Whheee! New Alias ^___^

for the harddrives on thinkgeek i was thinking more along the lines of the pockey

Oooh... shiney.

Yeah, I'm just looking for something to get 5-10MB files back and forth from the art lab. Cutting CD-RWs for that is kind of iffy as the Macs in are lab are retarded and don't always read them properly.

good call, then *nod

if you ever saw the somewhat entertaining but completely prepsterous movie "the recruit", one of the characters used a usb hard drive to steal data from the cia

'twas silly.

::looks it up:: Oh. Missed that one. Seems that was a good thing. Why would you use a USB be drive to steal data from the CIA? You wouldn't get much.

yes, well, she was "employed" there, and she was using it to steal a virus that could (get this) basically shut down the world by entering powergrids through (get this)...ELECTRICAL OUTLETS! WOOO!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

indeed. 'tis sad really. A virus you plug into the wall *shakes head

although...one does wonder if it might be possible based on the principals of induction...but thats pushing pretty damned hard...

Well, as with all electrical signals, one would expect the signal to degrade and get sent in the wrong directions. Though, I could be wrong as I'm not an electrical engineer.

true true, but if it pulsed, it may be possible (very remotely possible) to use the inductance of the pulses to induce binary...buuut somehow I doubt it...
