What was with the pop music in the promo? Eesh. Though I do like the little flashback to NYC 1970 they slipped into the opener.
Big scary yay to the return of the Slayer - complete with "It's not enough" warning. I still saw that the actress looks a lot like the one who played Olivia, Giles' *cough* orgasm buddy.
Principal Wood. I do dig him, the "cool and sexy vampire fighting guy." Heh. The bag was a very nice gesture. I'm not sure, though, it's a good idea for her to show him where base is, especially if he's got a grudge against Spike.
I heart Andrew. He's just a big dork. And his "Sunnydale Big Board"... Ha! "Where do we put our receipts?"
Kennedy = serious power trip. She annoys me. Greatly.
The Wood/Spike interaction is seriously interesting. I have a feeling that Spike suspects the connection between Wood and the NYC Slayer. Then again, he might have thought it was a pissing contest and was just rising to the challenge.
Chloe ... on first reaction, I wonder if there is anything under her like a tipped chair - because if not, how did she hang herself? Jumping from the bed would mean that the rope/sheets needed to be longer, so she' probably touch the floor. Yes, I'm sick. Oh, okay, so she did hang herself. Just so she could be recast as the First Evil.
Another inspirational speech from the Buffster... that I actually like. Everyone is just messing around and they need to get their asses in gear. I especially liked what she said to Spike, that she wanted the Big Bad back - evil, dangerous, season 2 Spike that we all love - because that's what she needs right now. She doesn't need the weepy, sensitive, caring guy - and honestly, I don't think she ever would want that. She had it with Riley and it made her miserable. Buffy wants a guy who's just as rough and tumble and hard to kill as she is.
Creepy shadow puppet show. I now longer like shadow casters and will go home and burn mine. Eesh. Why does Xander always get hit first? Stop making him the buttmonkey!
Ah, a lovely reference to "Restless." I think if we look back on the episode, a lot of things Joss & Co hinted at and brain stormed have come to pass.
The creation of the first Slayer was the bonding of a girl and the spirit and heart of a demon. Very interesting stuff. This pretty much wipes the whole humans vs. demons and half-demons are still demons issue down the drain, doesn't it? Because if the Slayer is part demon, and she works on the side of good, then half-demons can be good (which we've already seen anyway). However. This could just mean that the Slayer is a pet hybrid in the service of the Council.
Hell yes!! The Big Bad is back!! And wearing Mommy Woods' duster. How I do miss the old Spike with his minimal fashion sense and lack of silly button-up shirts.
Buffy beating up the creators of the First Slayer and the "male oppressor" speech was very interesting. I have a sneaking suspicion that what Buffy learned was that she needed the power to survive and destory the First Evil and she just blew it. Oh, see, I was right. Holier Than Thou Buffy ruins it again. Due to the severity of the situation, I think it would have been better for her to lower her standards a tiny bit to get some more power to save the world.
Kennedy - all cat and no hat. She was all about the cool Willow and how Willow has the most power, but once she was faced with it and used by it, she was deflated.
The last scene with the army ofUruk-Hai Ubervamps were straight out of Lord of the Rings a certain blockbuster film. I think someone bought and learned how to use Massive.

Funniness....my mom was watching it with me, and right after the 1970 clip, and Wood talking to FE/Mon, my mom was all 'that cant be right! She's not the slayer-person'.
Thats cause its called a FLASHBACK mom. <_<
