Yay! They finally showed how Giles got out of that little situation at Watcher Headquarters ("I knew the Bringer was there because his shoes squeaked!"). Of course, as he was bragging about reflex and training and blah, blah, Spike tackles him - because Anya had told them that Giles was possibly the First. Er.. wait a second. Anya went with them to the desert and gang-tackled Giles, so why would she tell Buffy & Spike that he's the First? ::confused::
They removed the chip! Yay! The Big bad shouldn't be too far behind. *g* And double yay for the Cantonese Slayer - who actually speaks proper Cantonese (I think..)
The idea that Spike's soul can stop him from hurting people doesn't wash with me, especially since people with souls have done things worse than Spike.
Ashanti is evil. That is both an observation of the episode and a judgement on her personal character.
I wonder if Xander knows about that secret weapons cabinet, what with him having the plans for the school and all.
Jonathan! Whee! I love Danny Strong :) Though not enthused about Jono taunting Andrew to shoot the Potential's with the gun Willow bought and left in the yard.
Giles should be banned from making drawings of any kind. They're scary and disturbing. I think perhaps he's scarred the Asian girl. Bad, Giles! No more flash cards for you!
::watched Principal Wood dust vamps:: ... What the... ::waits through commercial for good explanation:: He's taken out a couple vamps and a demon... and he knows she's the Slayer. Also, bonus points for laughing at Buffy's counseling skills. Heh. Wood's mom - possibly the Slayer from the 70's that was shown during "Fool for Love." (as pointed out by Oz in BuffyChat)
Go, Andrew with the questions and trying to snoop out a way to kill the First! I see a little Andrew/Dawn sparkage. Ew.
Bad Buffy! Spike overheard that "best thing I've ever had in my mouth" line and is all jealous and offended. Spike, dude, you really need to move on. Hey, how about Anya? You two would make an interesting pair.
See? I told you Ashanti was evil. Also, Xander shold just stop dating and either go back to Anya or swear off relationships for the rest of his life. Though I don't want him to die, I'd really like to see how they save a normal human from a very fatal stomach wound.
Spike's a wuss. He killed two Slayers and now his chip is out and he can't even handle a cheap demon. That is such a load of bull.
Wood r0x0rs. Uhm.. but yes, Oz was right. Wood's mother was killed by Spike. Interesting twist, but he's fought for Good too long to be suddenly swayed to ultimate evil because he knows who killed his mother. I mean, he ignored the First and even walked through It. No one has done that yet.

Date: 2003-02-11 07:04 pm (UTC)Oz is sharper than I am -- it didn't occur to me that Wood's mom was probably killed by Spike until the First appeared in that final scene, when I remembered the second Slayer Spike killed and realized that they pretty much had to make Spike Wood's mother's killer at this point. And yeah, he won't be swayed to ultimate evil -- but I think it'd suit the First's purpose to have Wood turn against Spike at some point (or at least distrustful of him) -- or possibly just be suspicious of Buffy and the Scoobies' motives for having Spike around.

I think buffy means about spike not hurting people b/c he has a soul the same thing as angel 'not hurting people' because of his soul-ness. Or she just has blinders on still. O_o
