amezriOkay, so as we all know, Creation is a horrible, money-grubbing group. I'll likely never attend one of their cons again (gonna hit up the UK next ^_~) but I don't wanna talk about it.. right now anyway. I haven't gotten my pictures developed yet, so for now all I have a some ramblings about what I can remember from the two days. Probably to be edited later.

w00t! Mad fun! Virginia Hey is so very nice! She had a meet & greet in the dealer's room an hour before her scheduled appearance. Everyone was very nice and kept a respectable distance as Ginny posed with everyone for photos and handed out business cards sprayed with her new perfume - "Enlighten." Oh, yes, she also spritzed all the girls. ^_^* (I put the card in my wallet and now my wallet smells like Ginny! o_O)
I had to buy photos to get signed... at $6 a piece, I some how ended up spending somewhere around $60.. eesh. And I also bought an extra autograph ticket for Gigi. Hmm.. shoulda got more for the other guests too, but they were $20 each, $40 for Claudia -_-;; Damn Creation!
I was in seat G4! *hee* Okay, so only the Mac geek is amused. *ahem* The couple sitting to my right.. um, I have no idea why they were even there. They just seemed so pissed off the whole time. The woman didn't even crack a smile when Anth was on stage and that man is hysterical! Ugh. Annoying people.
Soul' warned me about "con time" so I was prepared for the long waits and delays. Ginny finally got on stage and she talked about.. um.. lots of stuff. Mostly about how she now has a Green Card (yay, Ginny!) and can now work in the US. She told us how her lawyer told her she had to get a letter from Mel Gibson basically saying that she was worth the effort (ie: why Hollywood should hire her over an American actress), and it's been years since she's seen him. First she tried getting a letter from Heath Ledger (she worked with him on "Roar"), but eventually went back to Mel. Anywho, when she finally got her papers back, the header said "Alien of Extraordinary Ability." *G* She also discussed her make-up and why it looked different in "John Quixote": The makeup dept. thought she was going to have long hair, so the cap was made too large and her former makeup artists were working full time on Rowan Woods (the Buddah-Zhaan) and she had some part-time artists who hadn't worked on Zhaan in a long while. Oh yes.. there was much discussion about her bra and boobs. LOL Apparently she never realized those shots with her leaning over consoles and other things so the camera had a nice shot of her cleavage were strategically planned. Heh. Her time was up much too quickly, though. Bah. I had over an hour's wait before I got to her at the autograph table. She's very nice though and has a very lovely, carefully signed signature. I'm thinking about getting her perfume, but...
I have never seen so many music videos in my life. Seriously. Some were good. Some were just plain... cheese. I probably wouldn't have downloaded them, let alone had the desire to watch it on a huge screen. Cool costumes of the day: a pair of girls dressed as Chiana & Zhaan from "Liars, Guns & Money" and this guy with a kick-ass PK Commando outfit (vest and jacket).
Second guest of the day was Wayne Pygram. I heart Wayne. Scorpius is creepy, Harvey is funny, but Wayne rocks beyond words! He's so funny and very nice. He talked about why Scorpious looked so thin in the beginning of the season then kind of filled out. Apparently, he also has a gluten allergy, but his is coeliac. It's more or less the opposite of candida (which I have); you become physically ill and lose a lot of weight. After he was diagnosed, he asked some cast/crew why they had never said anything to them, when there was something very obviously wrong. Um... they thought he had a drug abuse problem ^_^** People had been describing him as "Picard on crack," and he didn't really understand its real meaning at the time, just thought, "my, that's clever."
He also talked about how difficult it was to move in the Scorpy makeup.. and other things I'm blanking out on right now. Oh, he did mention that Harvey was "coming back from the dead"! He and Anthony are currently in a band together called Number 96 and that he would be selling CDs (as would Anth) and if you bought one today, you could get it signed for free. Take that you Creation pigs! Wayne says that he'll be in NYC for another week.
Gigi bounded on to stage shortly after Wayne. The girl doesn't own anything but short skirts from what I hear. LOL! Don't really have an issue with that since she looks faboo! The cameras would not stop flashing! Very popular girl. She's very fun and every bit the pixie we think she is. She talked about how the Chiana mannerisms developed: her first day, she got all made-up, but they never used her. She requested to keep the makeup on so she cuold stay in her trailer to muck about. The artists looked at her kind of funny, but let her. And voila! Chiana! Someone asked a question about love scenes, and she said how much it sucked to have to kiss someone with all that makeup on. Everything smudges, so it has to be reapplied nearly every second and you have to watch who and what you're touching. Heh. She said so much! The girl is very hyper and chatty ^___^ Loads of cute poses and expressions. Um, she talked a bit about her roles on The Lost World and Beastmaster. When she first got called to do it she said, "I'm not doing porno!" LOL Silly girl! ^_~ Gigi is moving from Sydey to Melbourne to join the cast of an Aussie drama, The Secret Life of Us.
Gigi & Wayne had their autograph sessions at the same time, with Gigi first up. Long wait, of course. Gigi had gotten the most requests for autographs. Gigi was so cheery signing things for people. I wanted to ask her for a pic with her, but she was sandwiched between two aids, so I didn't want to make her get up. I said hello from the Aussie 'Scapers and Gigi gave me a huge smile and told me to say hi back and to give them her love - she'll be back soon! I asked if she would be going to the cocktail party Saturday and she said she was. I moved right over to Wayne after Gi.. it was a little embarassing because I was highly unorganized and was fumbling with my wallet and pics I just got signed by Gigi -_-; I bought one of the Demo CDs! They're signed on the case, but Wayne also signed the disc and mentioned that Anth will sign them on Saturday. Oh, when I went up to get my photo signed, Wayne commented on my outfit. "I see you've got your leathers on." I just kinda smiled and said, "yeah," but quickly corrected myself, telling him it was just vinyl. (I was wearing black vinyl pants, a red Velvet Chain t-shirt, and the vinyl Aeryn duster that Merril-lee had made for me.) His bandmate (I think it was his bandmate...) smiled and said something about it being less cruel to animals, and Wayne replied something to the likes of, "I'm not that kind to animals." *hee*
Overall, a great first day - because of the guests. Again I say - Creation sucks. The auction sucked, the games sucked, the audiance participation sucked. And of course, everything goes back in their pocket, not to a charity or the actors like fan cons. Pfft.

Anthony Simcoe! Rock star! Very different from his D'Argo character and there were definitely antics aplenty. "Accent? I don't have the accent, you have the accent, okay?" LMAO He talked a lot about the D'Argo voice and how it developed. A question was asked about bloopers and he said that most of the bloopers involve him and can't be shown because he's very crass and crude. LOL! Someone asked how long D'Argo's tongue was. His answer was done in a very suggestive D'Argo voice o_O: "Ladies, D'Argo's tongue is 9-feet-long. It can go left. It can go right. It can go up. It can go down. It can go around clockwise. It can go around counter-clockwise. And it can do a combination of any of those." Gah! LOL! Oh, yes, Anth also said that he's a news junkie and watches UK news channels almost non-stop. He was mocking this American newscaster would apparently couldn't read or pronounce words. Yes.. that's happening a lot in our country.. just have a look out out leader. >_< Gawd, I can't remember everything! Ah, wait. Do remember that during "Out of Our Minds," when he had to breath and act like Chiana in all that D'Argo gear his blood sugar dropped so low that he passed out and they rushed him to hospital. The doctor said that his blood sugar had dropped below that of a dead person, so it was amazing that he was even alive! o_O
[edited to add: Anthony loves snow! He got all excited about coming to NYC because he saw on the news that there was supposed to be a storm and then.. no snow! Last year, a fan brought him a tub of snow and he made a snowball and threw it at someone.]
There was a portion of the autograph wait where the room was dark and it was totally silent (yup, waiting for more music videos). From backstage in the autograph area Anth shouts, "I'm scared of silence!" ROFLMAO!
At his signing, I bought a second Number 96 demo CD and Anthony signed both, PLUS the photo. Whee! Double-kick in balls to Creation! *eg* As I got stuff signed, he noticed my collar (the Alias "ATY" bondage choker) and said that he liked it. ^__^ I asked if he was going to be at the party and he told me that yup, he was going to pop down.
More music videos. Please, gods, make it stop! >_< The only ones remotely amusing were "Masochism Tango" and.. um.. can't remember the others. Dallascaper probably has 'em up. heh. There was one to "Time of Your Life," which is the most over-used Green Day song ever. Ugh. The fan tribute was really good though, it had various con clips with Ben & Claudia.
What can I say about Claudia Black? If any one cast member had the potential to be a stuck-up bitca, it would be her - what with the movie deals and whatever, but she is not. She's sweet, kind, and - who would have guessed - super hysterical! The first thing she did when she got on stage was to talk about 9/11 and how she felt really bad that people had been there because of her, Ben & DK. When that happened, she said she immediately went into Aeryn mode, wanting to do whatever she could to help - volunteer, donate blood, etc - and Ben was there to calm her down. LOL They went to a local church and burned some candles. As we know, they got out safely. After that, she asked who's had a particularly crappy year. I should have raised my hand, but I wasn't sure what was gonna happen. Claud invited the two people who raised their hands to come up to a table at the side of the stage - she'd brought a huge bag of Suckao and showed them how to use the tea light to heat the milk & chocolate to make hot chocolate. Cute! ^_^ I wish I had gotten better pictures of the whole thing. Claudia is a huge chocoholic, so I guess her spreading the addiction is no surprise.
[edited to add: When Claudia was reading the little info insert, she spelled out the name of the product and said "zero" instead of "o". LOL She corrected herself with almost a d'oh! kinda expression and a shake of her head. "Zero? 'O', what am I talking about?"]
Cellphones had been going off all through the con, but Claud felt compelled to answer them for people. LOL The first one was a bad line, so no joy there, but the second one was so funny! "Is that another call I have to answer?" she said with a sly smirk. The woman had no idea who she was and Claud had a whole conversation about Thanksgiving and pies and family, then told the woman that she had to go because she was on stage at a convention. For Farscape. "You know Aeryn Sun? The one who fancies John Crichton. Yes. That's who I play." Then she turned the phone to the audiance and we all went nuts. hehehe! Someone asked about her singing and she said that she didn't have anything prepared today, but maybe next year. I guess she was thinking about singing at the Burbank con last week, but that's when Anth & Wayne's band performed, so she felt really silly singing after that as they were so good.
She said a little something in the Princess accent. Told us an anecdote about "Icarus Abides". At the end, when Talyn!Crichton is dying, she said she had to think about what it would be like to lose someone, like Aeryn was in this scene, and the script may or may not have called for a kiss, but she felt it was right. So... she went for it. She'd been crying so much that when she pulled back, there was this huge string of snot! As soon as the camera cut, she was all embarassed and apologizing profusely to Ben. Ben was all non-chalant and claud does this great Ben impression, "Don't worry about it, baby, it's all good." Gah, just picturing Ben saying "baby." *g* Anywho, Claud laughed and said that Ben's got kids so after that, nothing's gonna phase him.
I didn't have the nerve to ask for a picture from Claudia at the autograph table because, again, she was in the middle and I didn't want her to have to get up. But also, Creation was being a bitch, rushing everyone through. Bah. She noticed the Aeryn duster and said, "That is a gorgeous coat, did you make it?" I told her that my mom's friend did (and it came out more as "mum"). She reached out and touched the cuff, to feel the fabric, I guess, and said, "it's lovely." Of course, I'm an idiot and told her that the girl behind me has a much better one (which she did - it was an absolute replica of the duster Aeryn wore in "Liars, Guns & Money"), so Claud got all distracted and looked. I heard her say "Oh, yeah, wow," as I thanked her and stepped away from the table. She's much nicer than I ever thought she could be ^___^
The Cocktail Party - Saturday night
Okay, first off - I was under the impression that the cocktail party would be when the guests got to walk around and mingle with the people. I get there and tables are set up around the room with a teenie dance floor up front. Four chairs are set up on a platform - three for the guest and one for the person who's getting a picture with them - they'd call you by table. Uh... oh.. kay. That's really.. lame.
I wore the Milla "Resident Evil" outfit as well as the Alias bondage choker. Heh. It was cool because a couple people recognized it. One girl tagged me on the dance floor and asked if that's what the outfit was from and a second asked me where I got the dress because she was originally going to dress the same way.
I did have a wicked time, though, once the party got started and some people jumped on the dance floor. The music was pretty crappy at first, but got better. DJs played dance/techno at least. Gigi skipped out for a break (cigarette, possibly?) and I got a chance to chat a bit with Wayne. Okay.. I won't lie. I only got to tell him that I have candida and he told me that they had him on the candida list for awhile. He said that candida is "full on" because of the purging you have to do the first month and that I should stick with it. Oh yes, he also said that I looked "naughty." ^.^* I totally forgot to mention anything about TaScape or try to get any contact info.. not that he would have given me any anyway. While Gigi was still gone, the DJ played Kylie's "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and Anth jumped out of the chair and started dancing. So. Fun. I didn't get a picture though. Damn. Oh! time Warp! They played the Time Warp! Waiiii! I somehow ended up at the front of the crew, which was bad since I didn't remember all the steps, but there were two girls who didn't know what was going on at all, so I felt less stupid. Heh.
Oh! Farscape impressions! Most.. weren't that good. Two Jools.. with the screaming. x_X A D'Argo imitation using Anth's response to the tongue question. And.. holy crap - a guy imitating Chiana. It was danm funny! And strangely impressive. He started saying stuff like, "I'm the hottest chick in the universe," and "Look it me. I'm Chiana!" LOL! Suddenly, Gigi gets stands up and gives him the two-finger salute! Bwahahaha! The guy won, of course. How could he not? He had the moves and the breathing thing she does ^_~
My table was finally called and.. well, more waiting. Two girls - slightly tipsy - said that I had to dance with them. Another woman said that I was a good dancer and the only good dancer for a while. The Creation staff started rushing people through the line because apparently the guests were "leaving soon." The fu-- it's like 10.30. I jumped up between Wayne and Anthony, with Anthony saying, "Oh, girl with the cool necklace." Heeeee! Apparently Wayne was making a face at me. LOL I haven't seen the picture yet. After my pic, I got a picture with the girls dressed as Chiana & Zhaan and asked the woman who was Zhaan if she would be willing to take a commission for an Aeryn duster. I gave her my card and she said she'd contact me if she had time. I also got a picture with the guy dressed in a leather PK commando outfit - I think he pulled his pulse pistol on me. o_O Oh, and there was a model DRD! I snapped a poor picture of it, but it was so cool! It was remote controlled and had blinking lights. The bugger won the costume contest. LOL
Welp, that's it. That's what I remember of my first real con experience. Pics will be around eventually - I've got 4 rolls to develop. Hopefully some of them came out. I have terrible photography skills...

I guess she was thinking about singing at the Burbank con last week, but that's when Anth & Wayne's band performed, so she felt really silly singing after that as they were so good.
She said a little something in the Princess accent. Told us an anecdote about "Icarus Abides". At the end, when Talyn!Crichton is dying, she said she had to think about what it would be like to lose someone, like Aeryn was in this scene, and the script may or may not have called for a kiss, but she felt it was right. So... she went for it. She'd been crying so much that when she pulled back, there was this huge string of snot! As soon as the camera cut, she was all embarassed and apologizing profusely to Ben. Ben was all non-chalant and claud does this great Ben impression, "Don't worry about it, baby, it's all good." Gah, just picturing Ben saying "baby." *g* Anywho, Claud laughed and said that Ben's got kids so after that, nothing's gonna phase him.
I didn't have the nerve to ask for a picture from Claudia at the autograph table because, again, she was in the middle and I didn't want her to have to get up. But also, Creation was being a bitch, rushing everyone through. Bah. She noticed the Aeryn duster and said, "That is a gorgeous coat, did you make it?" I told her that my mom's friend did (and it came out more as "mum"). She reached out and touched the cuff, to feel the fabric, I guess, and said, "it's lovely." Of course, I'm an idiot and told her that the girl behind me has a much better one (which she did - it was an absolute replica of the duster Aeryn wore in "Liars, Guns & Money"), so Claud got all distracted and looked. I heard her say "Oh, yeah, wow," as I thanked her and stepped away from the table. She's much nicer than I ever thought she could be ^___^
The Cocktail Party - Saturday night
Okay, first off - I was under the impression that the cocktail party would be when the guests got to walk around and mingle with the people. I get there and tables are set up around the room with a teenie dance floor up front. Four chairs are set up on a platform - three for the guest and one for the person who's getting a picture with them - they'd call you by table. Uh... oh.. kay. That's really.. lame.
I wore the Milla "Resident Evil" outfit as well as the Alias bondage choker. Heh. It was cool because a couple people recognized it. One girl tagged me on the dance floor and asked if that's what the outfit was from and a second asked me where I got the dress because she was originally going to dress the same way.
I did have a wicked time, though, once the party got started and some people jumped on the dance floor. The music was pretty crappy at first, but got better. DJs played dance/techno at least. Gigi skipped out for a break (cigarette, possibly?) and I got a chance to chat a bit with Wayne. Okay.. I won't lie. I only got to tell him that I have candida and he told me that they had him on the candida list for awhile. He said that candida is "full on" because of the purging you have to do the first month and that I should stick with it. Oh yes, he also said that I looked "naughty." ^.^* I totally forgot to mention anything about TaScape or try to get any contact info.. not that he would have given me any anyway. While Gigi was still gone, the DJ played Kylie's "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and Anth jumped out of the chair and started dancing. So. Fun. I didn't get a picture though. Damn. Oh! time Warp! They played the Time Warp! Waiiii! I somehow ended up at the front of the crew, which was bad since I didn't remember all the steps, but there were two girls who didn't know what was going on at all, so I felt less stupid. Heh.
Oh! Farscape impressions! Most.. weren't that good. Two Jools.. with the screaming. x_X A D'Argo imitation using Anth's response to the tongue question. And.. holy crap - a guy imitating Chiana. It was danm funny! And strangely impressive. He started saying stuff like, "I'm the hottest chick in the universe," and "Look it me. I'm Chiana!" LOL! Suddenly, Gigi gets stands up and gives him the two-finger salute! Bwahahaha! The guy won, of course. How could he not? He had the moves and the breathing thing she does ^_~
My table was finally called and.. well, more waiting. Two girls - slightly tipsy - said that I had to dance with them. Another woman said that I was a good dancer and the only good dancer for a while. The Creation staff started rushing people through the line because apparently the guests were "leaving soon." The fu-- it's like 10.30. I jumped up between Wayne and Anthony, with Anthony saying, "Oh, girl with the cool necklace." Heeeee! Apparently Wayne was making a face at me. LOL I haven't seen the picture yet. After my pic, I got a picture with the girls dressed as Chiana & Zhaan and asked the woman who was Zhaan if she would be willing to take a commission for an Aeryn duster. I gave her my card and she said she'd contact me if she had time. I also got a picture with the guy dressed in a leather PK commando outfit - I think he pulled his pulse pistol on me. o_O Oh, and there was a model DRD! I snapped a poor picture of it, but it was so cool! It was remote controlled and had blinking lights. The bugger won the costume contest. LOL
Welp, that's it. That's what I remember of my first real con experience. Pics will be around eventually - I've got 4 rolls to develop. Hopefully some of them came out. I have terrible photography skills...

and yes, agreed, Creation sucks mightily. but i got to actually meet some of the employee-volunteers, and they were actually quite fun! so at least there's that...
here's hoping Target's got my pics ready to go when i arrive to collect them, and a con in England would be the perfect excuse to go back for a visit! hurrah!
