Well lah dee dah!
Oct. 6th, 2001 11:50 pmWorked on my stupid project today. I have no idea what I'm doing. I'll just spew something out I guess. Whatever.
Finally got a chance to read the stack of comics I ordered. The New X-Men is great.. except for the latest issue. Gods the arc is dark. Nova is... scary. I don't like her. And what is this, the year of beating on Beast? Poor Hank. Marvel writers don't seem to be happy unless the poor guy's laying in a puddle of his own blood. I've liked Ultimate X-Men so far, but the ish with an African-American Nick Fury was just.. dumb. First of all, why make S.H.I.E.L.D. a group of bad guys and Nick Fury - the coolest agent - a walking cheeseball? Second of all.. who was writing this drivel? ::rolls eyes:: Did enjoy the first part of the Rogue Icon mini-series a lot.. even if they did change her original story a bit. Then again, continuity was never one of Marvel's strong points.
Watched a bit of TV today: reviewed X-Men: Evolution and saw the first episode of UC: Undercover. Cool show. Gritty. Jon Seda. *ahem* No 'Ded, but I'm told he shows up at the end of the second episode.
Speaking of Oded, Sez is taking a trip to Brisbane. Have fun, darls! ^_^
I'm a bit jealous of my cousin. Bruce Campbell is going to be signing books at the local Borders. He gets to meet Mr. Cool, Dark and Handsome! Booo! Well, not totally boo since he's gonna try and get me an autographed book. Score! *g* Still.. wish I could meet him. Maybe I should take a bus out to Syracuse on Thursday. Heh.
Took some more eMode tests. I'm sad and pathetic. So what?
What Color is Your Aura?
We don't need a psychic to tell us that you're giving off a Sapphire vibe. People with blue auras feel everything strongly -- you tend to get a little emotional at the drop of a hat. You're also deeply spiritual and introspective. Matters of the heart, mind, and soul are important to you, and your waters run as deep as the ocean. Nurturing by nature, you're likely a loving, supportive caretaker. That's why friends, family, and co-workers adore you. They know you're a good listener and always have great advice and a shoulder for them to cry on. In fact, if we had to find a fault, it's that you can be a tad too self-sacrificing. Remember that it's okay to say no sometimes. You forgive everyone else their weaknesses, so go ahead and forgive yourself for a little well-deserved selfishness. Indulge your creative side and do something artsy, or just take a break from being the world's counselor. You'll come back refreshed and ready for more.
Well this was both disappointing and reassuring... since I am a Virgo.
What Zodiac Sign Should You Be? - A Virgo! It's sooo you!
The planets are very complex. Maybe your astrologer will disagree, and maybe a few tendencies will vary, but overall you're a VIRGO. You've got that reserved and modest demeanor, just like the astrological symbol of Virgo, the virgin. You are not, however, one to sit passively as the world passes you by. Quite the contrary. Your mind is extremely analytical. You want an answer for every question you pose, and you immediately raise a new question for every answer you're given. Such perfectionism and inquisitiveness clearly invite stress and worry into your life. But your practical and organized lifestyle lets you to keep these feelings under control. You are the most conscientious and analytical sign in the zodiac.
The All New Ultimate Personality Test - Critic
You're complex and thoughtful. You look beneath the surface. You're good at chess (or would be if you played). Pondering deep thoughts sounds better to you than going out on the town. But you can be so critical and introspective that even positive qualities can seem like faults. The truth is that you have a very perceptive, gentle spirit.
You carry quite a few burdens on those little shoulders of yours. Sometimes the world seems so gloomy that you just want to crawl up in your cozy bed and sleep it off. That shy nature of yours means you like to be alone watching romantic comedies, preferably ones starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. Chances are you hate arguing and other tense situations, which can leave you feeling helpless and confused. But there's a part deep inside you that's aching to make some serious bucks. You just need to figure how to go out and grab it.
You hate chaos at work and prefer a structured environment. You avoid co-workers who talk loudly or brandish sharp objects. Sometimes you feel undervalued by your boss, but everyone notices your motivation and talent. You wish you dressed snappier. But you're an original thinker, and people will respect your judgments once they get to know you.
Oh, good. I'm the same color as dirt :oP
What's Your True Color? - brown
You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.
IQ Test - 117
Incredible! What does that mean? Well, the IQ test measures several different areas of thinking, including math skills, logical reasoning, understanding analogies, and object relations. Your verbal, emotional, and social skills aren't taken into account in the score.
That said, how do you compare? Well, a score below 70 means that you fall well below the average for most people (Hi,Forrest!). A score between 85 and 99 means that you're somewhat below the average, and a score from 100 to 115 means that your intelligence is rated above the population average. Scores between 115 to 130 mean that your intelligence is well above average. And if you get higher than a 130, you're a total genius (try not to let it go to your head).
What's Your Emotional Age?
Behavior:
There are countless reasons why people may act or feel a certain age at any given point in their lives. Feeling a certain age is not a static thing, nor is it something that always follows a pre-determined pattern. Some people act older when they are children then have a second childhood in their retirement years. Others act like children until they become parents and then seem to click into a different mode. It can be helpful and insightful to learn which stage you're at right now, and why.
Nobody fits neatly into a given category. There are several components in your emotional age: behavior, emotion, and responsibility. In the area of behavior, you seem to fall very clearly into the "mature" category. There is no doubt that others can rely on you and that your behavior is probably consistent and dependable. This is great, but it probably also means that you don't allow yourself to have too much fun or act "outside the box." Most of your actions might be dictated by how they are going to affect other people. Basically, you might want to lighten up a little. Try to focus more on your own feelings. And, most of all -- have a little fun!
Emotions:
In the realm of emotions, you seem to fall into the "adolescent" category. This means that you sometimes express your emotions without thinking about the effect they have on other people. It can also mean that you are extremely self-conscious and worried about what other people think of you. Adolescents are notorious for being influenced by peer pressure and societal standards. Adolescents may also often be moody and withdrawn and have a hard time making emotional commitments, but they can also display great creativity. They feel strongly about many different things in their lives. Your passion for life probably comes through in your emotional reactions.
Responsibility:
When it comes to the level of responsibility you assume, you fall into the "mature" category. This means that you are probably someone who can be relied on to come through in any situation. People around you probably consider you totally dependable, perhaps to the point of being too controlling. It is a wonderful characteristic to care about the needs of other people and not to burden them with your problems, but you may want to alleviate some of your own emotions sometimes. There are times when you can leave aside your concerns for everything and everyone around you. But you also need to leave time for yourself.
