cps; work; gov't stuff
Oct. 8th, 2004 06:31 pmMichael Vartan's on Sunday's Celebrity Poker Showdown. Here's a preview video.
So.. um.. I worked 7 hours today. She's got me scheduled for almost 40 next week and the week after. What happened to this being a 25 hour/week job? o_O Not that I'm not grateful for the money, it's just... wai.
More details later. Am tired. Head hurts. Eyes hurt. Everything in the airport is so damn bright. Though here's a funny thing: apparently my fingertips are so worn down from a lot of handcrafting and artwork things they can't get proper fingerprints out of me. So, you know, using harsh glue without any sort of gloves is probably a bad idea. *shrug*
Debates are on tonight. So expect some sort of snark about that.
Also, there's some stupid thing going around saying that Bush is wired? Okay, I think the guy is a complete idiot and can't run the country, but even I don't think he's wired. It's either a) one of those mic packs (which wouldn' tmake sense for the debate) or b) a new fangled bulletproof vest. I haven't had the time to really look into it.
Bill O'Reilly's appearance on the Daily Show last night? I still think the guy is a complete jackhole, but I didn't realize he's actually an Independant. There was actual criticism of Bush during his interview. Weird. Need to find a torrent because it's a really good interview and O'Reilly actually talks instead of yelling and screaming at people to shut up.

First of all, it would have been really nice if either of them could have answered the friggin' question instead of repeating the same crap they've been saying for the past few months. There were a few annoying things on both sides, and I'm just going to list them.

One very serious concern I have is about Bush's "multilateral" talks with North Korea. I know that China was brought in, but tonight I find out that Japan's there, too. China. And Japan. Talking to North Korea. Hi, are you all very retarded? Not only do you have one country that would love nothing more than to blow us all up, but now you have two. It's very clear that someone doesn't understand the very precarious relations between Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans. Generally speaking - they hate each other. Having the Chinese, Japanese, and South Koreans "helping" us talking down North Korea is very, very stupid and all three of them would just as soon be rid of us meddling Westerners.
And if I have to hear about us "spreading freedom" one more time, I'm going to puke. I'm all for helping countries that actually want our help, but to just decide that it's our responsibility to spread "freedom & democracy" like it's some sort of disease is sickening. Let's not even bring up the fact that this country is actually a Republic, not a Democracy. In fact, our founding fathers were against the formation of a democractic government.
There's just so much argh.
Jessi Klein (of VH1's Best Week ever) does running commentary on the debates.
