SGA CANCELED?!

Stargate Atlantis is being canceled after season 5?! What the hell? And they want to do DVD movies instead, as it's a "bigger canvas." No. NO, come on. Twenty hours is a much bigger canvas than two! Geez.

Are they axing it get the budget for Stargate Universe? Because that would be really dumb. Like when they killed off Farscape to fund other crap like Tremors. Ugh.

I don't even know why I'm so worked up considering I didn't watch any of season 3. I thought a lot of season 4 was good, though, and I have yet to watch season 5, but the response seems generally positive.

Sci Fi has been saying for awhile they wanted a different market. I think they think all sci fi fans are like the comic guy on the Simpsons. They clearly didn't pay attention to the BSG special where some of the bigger names in the industries discussed how much they loved it. They don't want a niche market anymore. Apparently us sci-fi fans aren't in vogue anymore. Clearly someone needs to tell San Diego the sad news.

And if I recall right, they're owned by NBC/Universal, which also said that the Heroes guests at Dragon*Con can't have their own panels to discuss the show.

I know the feeling. It's so frustrating because if a show doesn't show promise in 3 weeks or less, it's canned. They keep screwing around with times and NBC keeps buying up the stations, which means they're starting to outfox Fox.

I'm sorry, but that show beat the shit out of my suspension of disbelief. I just can't get into it. That said, it's certainly better than nearly all the Scifi original movies.

It's still on, yeah. And I think that's okay, because sometimes, I don't want to overanalyze everything. I just want to look at the pretty and pretend I can have the pretty. Eye candy. But I think part of the reason SGA was canceled was the fact they bought the rights to Lost reruns. You know they aren't going to be cheap. SciFi has a tendency to buy canceled or slowly dying shows. They're not very bright, that lot.

It's a sad state of affairs when you can do that. I mean, Fox is run by crack addicted crickets, but NBC promoted Bonnie Hammer. Clearly they win the stupid category.
