Well. I'm 5 days out from con and there is still sooo much stuff to do. I did get a lot done today though -- spent all day watching Boomtown and sewing. Fixing buttons, shirts with holes, patches, plus I made a sheath for my wand.. which my brother says looks like a blade sheath, so that may be a problem at con. We'll see.

Still left to do:
+ Module prints
+ print paperwork for art show items
+ check maps

Hm. Not as much as I thought, I guess?

Anyway... took a bunch of photos this morning. Lots of the finished Hogwarts costume and SGA BDUs!!!! I mean, seriously. I've been trying to get an SGA costume these done for like two years. And it's finally all together! Well, minus the vest, which I'm sending to someone to get it resized for me.

Details and pictures of both outfits under the cuts.

Modified Hogwarts Costume
It's sort of.. gothloli/piratey, I guess? [livejournal.com profile] queenmaab made the skirt and petticoat. Shirt was an eBay find. Tie from wizardties.com, wand & socks from Alivans.com, and coat from Pendragon Costumes.

Stargate Atlantis Black BDUs
Like I said, been trying to put together an SGA costume for ages and just never finished. Had most of the pieces, though. The pants... well.. I should have gotten XS-short, but I ended up with boys' 16. XD Works.

First up, I just got my new left-side drop holster. On sale from Blackhawk, so I figured, why not? I'm left-handed after all.

And then I've got the BDU uniform together. All pretty standard issue stuff... but if anyone needs specifics, let me know. And I know you're probably not supposed to put the belt over the shirt, but it's too long and it looked funny hanging over it, so there :P

For HP verse you've got a lot of room to play around, so long as you lean towards somewhat archaic or robes. Snape's usual movieverse outfit is not unlike a frock coat over trousers, which I'd say gives acceptable grounds to "canonize" frock coats as wizard wear.
