The air conditioner in my has been... non-air condition-y, so I stopped by Jiffy Lube after work. $160 later, they've recharged the system and it works great! *grumble* The thing I can be thankful for is that they inspected the system and said it's in really good condition, so really all it needed was to be flushed and have more coolant put in or whatever it is they do. Lovely. I still had to wait over an hour for it to get done >_<

On the plus side, so far tonight I have accomplished the following:

+ printed CD Covers for a certain fannish project
+ printed art for fannish project and to hand out at Shore Leave

Uhm. Okay, that's it so far, but I've been putting both of those off for a month. Next up, I want to work on a mood theme project for a little bit, then at 9pm, hopefully I can install Starcraft while I cut and mat the art prints.

Oh, right...

Does anyone on the flist still have/play Starcraft: Brood War? Buzz about the Starcraft 2 has me wanting to play the original game again and it's no fun if it's just me against the computer because I will lose.

Well you already know I've got them installed. And that I suck against the computer as well. Still gotta install it on the laptop.

What annoys me? Having to keep the fraking disc in the drive to play. And Blizzard just released a new patch for Starcraft, so I'm guessing the old existing no-cd cracks prolly don't work no more.

StarCraft only accesses the disk for the music files. You can actually disable the music (Ctrl+M for the shortcut command), and then the game will stop accessing the CD. You still need the CD to boot the game (like most games) and authenticate you own the game, but otherwise, it doesn't matter if you have the game in there, or not.

This may or may not be true as of latest patching - but this was possible a few years back.
