Happy Mother's Day to all the moms.
Have discovered new Three Dead Trolls skit: Skitfaced: To Live and Die in Hell, Eh with Nathan Fillion. Bwah!
So there was no new Doctor Who this week and it's mildly amusing to me when the fangirls flip about having withdrawal because it wasn't on. Is it that in England a series runs all the way through with no breaks? Because here our schedules are all sorts of screwed up. I understand that in the UK, series are rather short - anywhere from 6 to 13 episodes - whereas here an average season is 21 episodes, so yeah, we need the break. However, we get crap like the network moving the show to different time slots without notice, running a new ep and delaying for a couple weeks before the next one (Bones, I'm looking at you), and the idiocy that SciFi was pulling with the Stargates by pushing it back nearly 6 months. Meh. I'm not really coming down on the people who are complaining about the break, but it just sort of reminded me how mush I hate our scheduling here.
larissa_j - You are killing me with the caps! XD They are so shiny and I want them, but I am trying to be good and wait until I finish my other projects before getting back into Who! *bitesfist*
queenmaab - I know you're not into Doctor Who, but I thought as someone who does cross stitch, you'd appreciate the insane amount of work that must have gone into this.
Trailer for The Good Night is online. Looks like an interesting movie. I'm not exactly excited that Penelope Cruz is in it, but hey, it's got Gwenyth Paltrow, Danny DeVito, Martin Freeman, and Simon Pegg.
Pan's Labyrinth and The Fountain are out on DVD this Tuesday. Best Buy has a deal where if you buy both, you get $5 off. I'm there!
For your amusement: Real Pacman, where a Pacman and a Ghost go tearing through the library and a lab
Was rather productive today -- got photos from the last month or so online. Didn't realize I had so many. So... you know.. bandwidth heavy.
Start off with some flowers:

And then mom's birthday - May 9th.
seijitataki made the cake.

I have so many toy photos, they need their own album. Under the cut, I've got some of my new MicroLady and Stikfas.

Eriss versus Replicators!

I kind of couldn't be bothered to change the hands, but she had 10 pairs that you can change for whatever pose you need.

And as I am super dorky, here are my SGA Stikfas. I want to get more accessories maybe one day I'll do a custom paint job.

Stikfa Teyla

Stikfa Ronon

Stikfa McKay (blue) and Sheppard (black)

Stikfa McKay: *whinewhinewhine*
Stikfa Sheppard: Oh man, now what?

The team

Vala figures with Thor and Vala with the TARDIS. I'm sure there could be some complicated story about how Vala sneaks aboard to try and steal the TARDIS, but somehow ends up the Doctor's companion. There would be craziness! However, the Vala figure is about 2 inches taller than the Doctor figure, so it totally doesn't work.
Tulip Fest 2007 at the Washington Park in Albany. Joan Jett was playing so that's what most of the photos are of. I was about 5 car lengths from stage, but my shiny new camera did a really great job.
I did also take a couple video clips, which I posted on youtube (under the cut), but the quality got really crappy after upload, so they are also available on my server: clip 1 and clip 2.

All the Tulip Fest photos are here.

Some dumbasses decided to start a fight.

It is amusing. Much as I like Doctor Who, I'm enjoying the break and using it to get caught up on things like capping and cleaning the house, etc. It's not like they canceled it.
I still don't understand what Eurovision is all about but that's fine. Who will be back next week and boy does DT look yummy when he's all sweaty!
And random: Your pictures make me want cake :|

Well, there's only me to blame for being too lazy to burn stuff so I have room for your shiny caps.

It's... a European song contest, I guess? Each country sends one act to the contest. I'm not sure I understand it all either, but last year's winner was a rock group dressed like extras from Army of Darkness.
*pokes around youtube* Here it is: Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah from Finland.
Okay, see, now I'm looking at Eurovision stuff. Heh.
Ireland's entry was actually really good: Dervish, They Can't Stop the Spring
Winner this year was Serbia's Marija Serifovic.
I'm... sure you... din't care about any of that :x

I'm... sure you... din't care about any of that :x
*snickers madly*
Sadly, I understand your need to research. It's the geek in you.
That first one was a spoiler for a Doctor Who monster, wasn't it?

Date: 2007-05-14 03:23 am (UTC)More like American Idol and the Olympics got together and took some of the bad crack. 95% of the acts terrify me. I fear for their country of origin.

Ah, nope. I am referring to the film Army of Darkness starring Bruce Campbell :)
I don't actually know any Doctor Who spoilers! Go me!

Date: 2007-05-14 09:06 pm (UTC)You got it huh? ;) Traitor!
Actually, the last couple times I've seen him at FYE, he hasn't looked quite so bad. I'm thinking I might pick it up one of these days.
Too bad about the height difference between the Doctor and Vala. Maybe some, what's it called, forced perspective?
Oh yeah, what the heck is a microlady?

Date: 2007-05-16 01:37 am (UTC)Joan Jett was cool... except I really couldn't see anything from where I was. I love that my camera makes it look like I was pretty close XD Frankly, I might as well not have been there.
