Okay. So. I decided that instead of being a tard and blowing money on a Nintendo DS, I'm going to look into buying a new camera. On a quick glance at Steves Digicams, this is what I'm researching:
+ Canon Powershot S2 IS: 5MP, 12x zoom, unlimited video w/sound, SD card, macro & super macro. Will take still photos at 5MP while recording video. Runs on 4AA batteries. ~$300 (less on eBay)
Edit: Okay, I'm going for the PowerShot S3. Same as the S2, but with a larger LCD, 6MP, and a black body instead of silver.
Uh. And after that quick look, that's like the only camera I want. Yes. It seriously has everything I want in a camera (in that price range) and the sample photos and videos are quite nice.

Okay, back to iconing. I want to try and finish this set tonight.

Date: 2007-04-14 02:05 pm (UTC)my worry though is that it takes replaceable batteries and not a rechargable unit that comes with the camera. Every camera ive seen that ran on regular batteries would drain them just after a few photos.

Date: 2007-04-15 04:42 am (UTC)I'll be honest - I used mostly the automatic features, although I slowed down the shutter speed for the Castel pics and there are a few other ones on my flickr page that were "night" shots that I wanted to get brighter... But I was so afraid I would jack them up and get home with what I thought were decent pictures and have a bunch of blurry pictures that would make me cry for years to come, and since it's not MY camera (it's my dad's, borrowed - but I so know what my tax refund is going towards now!!) I didn't have a ton of time to play with it and figure it out ahead of time.
