work drama; costume: tardis; threadless

So. Work was interesting. Had a coworker pass out from ... I guess the diagnosis is exhaustion/dehydration/stress. I didn't get at all involved, but one minute he was at his desk complaining he was too hot and the next he's fallen out of his chair onto the floor. Cue panicked scrambling by other coworkers. An ambulance was called due to vomiting. Lovely. Anyway. He called a few hours later and they'd sent him home. *shrug*

After work, I headed over to katkel and sweetwildandmad's. Had a very tastey dinner with cookies for dessert! Watched the first episode of Special Unit 2 fresh of the DVR. I heart that show. That it has no official release makes me sad.

While there, we also worked on sweetwildandmad's TARDIS costume. We decided to do it all plain clothes style. Meaning, iron-ons on normal clothing. It looks so awesome. I wasn't exactly sure how it would come out, but the t-shirt looks really fabulous and the hoodie looks really great, too! One huge oversight was that the TARDIS hoodie over the TARDIS shirt looks a bit naff if the hoodie is unzipped. sweetwildandmad suggested having something else under the hoodie, so he's going to work on that.

I am really, really impressed with how well these came out and I think I'm going to have to make a TARDIS shirt of my very own!

There are still a couple more projects I need to finish for ICON though:

+ sew velcro to Air Force patch for team jacket
+ make Bloo
+ print & matte artwork
+ put Tom CDs in new jewel cases


In other news, my Threadless order arrived. Huzzah!! I also got one of their free drink holders -- and it's BLUE! Which is my favorite color. How did the Threadless elves know? :D

ETA: Bizarre Nike commercial featuring Power Rangers chasing after some poor guy.

Clearly the T-shirt layer of the TARDIS costume should look like the inside of the TARDIS, or possibly have images of a Doctor and maybe one of his Companions looking out from the door.

Yeah... we didn't fall upon that idea until after we'd already done the t-shirt. Oh well. He's got a fun shirt to wear out now in any case.
