Doctor Who being the UK equivalent of Star Trek in terms of cultural touchstones, and every actor who got into ST after TOS knowing their typecasting risk, I wouldn't be at all surprised that Eccleston knew going in he only wanted to do a season. Actually, the impression I've picked up from the fandom is that Russell Davies didn't think he'd be allowed more than a season anyway, and that some of the issues with the writing in the second season came from having painted himself into a bit of a corner with the Doctor and Rose.

One. JF looks like "please, don't make me give an interview." Though I loved his pissing humor.

Two. Dude, seriously, NBC's really pissing me the hell off. This isn't my first time at the rodeo with execs. And honestly, I'm more than a little over NBC's pissing contest/sulky attitude. It's so third grade and turns me off them. It's to the point I have no desire to watch their wonderchild Heroes. If nothing else, why support something that'll be shit on a couple years from now? They seem to suffer from "Follow the new shiny." It's not helping their network. After all, it took them how long to fire Reilly from Days? Common sense is not something that have in supply.

Three. Of course Eccleston doesn't. That's rather obvious. Of course, then he worked on Heroes. *grins* Close to the same genre, really. Oops?
