Last night, [livejournal.com profile] sweetwildandmad, [livejournal.com profile] katkel, [livejournal.com profile] punslingerr and I were supposed to go see Zombie Prom at the Hilton Center. We had a lovely dinner at [livejournal.com profile] sweetwildandmad & [livejournal.com profile] katkel's before heading over.

Well.... that didn't work out so well as first, the venue seemed a bit suss -- in the back of a mall area, across an access road with. Then we get inside and it smells like nursing home. Which, you know, whatever. But then we look at the program after getting our tickets and see that it's a children's production. Children, like, there is a 5th grader in the production.

Hey, I'm all for supporting kids acting, but this was like... no way. It's possible we may have been the jerkfaces who asked for a refund and left :x

Instead, we went back to [livejournal.com profile] sweetwildandmad & [livejournal.com profile] katkel's and started watching Blackpool (it gets better and more interesting after the setup, I swear!) before two of their friends came by. Then we switched over to The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I had [livejournal.com profile] sweetwildandmad & [livejournal.com profile] punslingerr watch the Children In Need special, which they'd apparently never seen before. It's sort of weird that they made a short clip that totally affects the reading of the show, but international networks probably won't see it. Internets FTW!

Erm. I think then we watched the Curse of Fatal Death (which was great) and then Dead Ringers, which would probably have been funnier if I new half the political and public figures they were making fun of. However... there was one bit (aside from the Who spoof) that was AWESOME -- they did a thing with Bin Laden's greatest hits and at the end the announcer says something like, "get Bin Laden before Geroge W. Bush does! So whenever you like, really" XD omg. awesome.

Watched Drew Barrymore host a bit of SNL after that. It was all right. Not terribly funny. Meh. Oh, but the Dakota Fanning Show (yay to NBC for posting) bit was great -- totally Dakota Fanning.

[livejournal.com profile] katkel -- article about Daniel Radcliffe in Equus and publicity photos, which would not be safe for work. The reactions in the comments are kind of amusing.

I need to polish up my presentation today.. so I think I'll do that while watching some kind of television. Was thing series 1 of the new Who, but I'd probably end up paying total attention to that and not really working on my presentation, so I should probably pull out something a bit more mind-numbing. Hm. or something I've seen a lot.... perhaps Blackpool again since watching the first 20 minutes last night is making me want the rest.

[livejournal.com profile] katkel & [livejournal.com profile] sweetwildandmad - seriously, stay with Blackpool. You'll get to see fun things like, David dancing to The Smith's The Boy with the Thorn in His Side (favorite dance sequence ever) and singing against David Morrissey to These Boots were Made for Walking. And Cupid is definitely a great sequence. oh! And the crazed fantasy of I Second that Emotion.

Hm. Any excuse to post Tennant YouTube links, I suppose.
