The season 2 Who DVD set is out tomorrow and... I'd really, really love it. But I can either get that or a pair of Chucks and a pair of tac boots. Or two pairs of Chucks. I think the shoes win.

Uhm. I'm going to buy Blackpool though, since it's on sale at Amazon.co.uk XD erm, but I just tried to buy the Sonic Screwdriver torch and there's some sort of global restriction on it. Blargh. Not even going to get Blackpool until February, though, as it's backordered >_<

I need to go get the Extras DVD set.... because, hi, Orlano Bloom and Sophia Myles on Season 2! *glee* SOPHIA! Well, okay, it's mostly Orlando (full episode: part 1, part 2, part 3)

This morning BitLord was pissing me off, so I switched to uTorrent. The install is less than a meg and it has all the features you could possibly need. Rawk.

So... I've been hearing some very distressing things about SGA season 4.

+ Martin Gero. I hear he's leaving the writing staff. WTF? Now who's going to give us the fabulous, cracktastic, character driven scripts? No one, that's who. Nevermind.

+ Torri Higginson is dropping to recurring. Which... I'm strangely okay with if that means the character will be used more effectively because OMG most episodes I just can't stand Weir. Love Torri. Really, really do. But the way they've written Weir over the course of the show... ugh. My favorite Weir episode was "The Long Goodbye" and she spent nearly all of it as an alien being. I sort of cringed when she was back to her normal self. Ugh.

+ Paul McGillion dropping to recurring. I think. He is recurring, isn't he? I'm okay with that sort of status becuase he's suffering the same sort of issues as Weir -- because he's a regular he needs to be in the bulk of the episodes, which means sometimes he's just standing there. It sucks for Paul, I'm sure, to do nothing all day but stand around and not even have dialog or character development.

+ Amanda Tapping. Well... look. I can't stand Carter. At all. I love Amanda -- she's just so terribly cute. But Carter? Is boring. And annoys the crap out of me. The only times I've liked Carter were when she was all geeked out in "Moebius" and the imaginary Carter in "Grace Under Pressure." She was rather amusing in "McKay & Mrs. Miller," so perhaps if the correct writing staff are handling it, it'll be okay.

+ Jewel Staite as the new Canadian medical officer. I am totally okay with this, and not just because I love Jewel. Carson should never have been CMO -- he should have just stuck with leading the genetic research department because, honestly -- he's a research scientist! Argh. I always felt there should have been another CMO because Carson would do things or handle a situation in such a way that made me go "buuuhhh?!" And seriously, Carson should just never, ever go off-world. Bad things happen. So. Right. Having Jewel on staff as the medical doctor? I'm totally okay with that.

BLACKPOOL was deleted. Don't know why. But I think I'm gonna bust my ass to get a copy.

SendIt says they can still get copies. Probably.

WHAAAAT?!

Okay... that's... not good. My amzon.co.uk order has been placed, but... you think I should wait it out or look for it somewhere else? Estimated delivery is mid-February. :\

Frak it. I just canceled my Amazon order for it because I really have never had good luck with their stock when it's back ordered from more than a week anyhow. I bought a copy from a third-party seller for a bit less than that SendIt is selling it for. Funnily enough, it's being shipped from FLORIDA, but I'm still paying the airmail postage price. Argh.

So... Blackpool is costing me twice as much... whatever.

Hey -- I just ordered Blackpool from HMV.co.uk and I got notification this morning that they've shipped it! So if you're looking for a copy, check it out. It was GBP7.99 plus GBP3.75 for shipping.

[livejournal.com profile] amireal pointed me to a rebuttal by, um, Brad Wright? That Gero isn't leaving the writing staff. Whew. (I think it is in the comments of [livejournal.com profile] spubba's rant.)

Thank you! This one is mine and not shareable, but it's by [livejournal.com profile] monanotlisa who makes all sorts of lovely icons, if you'd like to check her stuff out.

uTorrent is the shit and I can't believe you were using BitLord for so long hah. I probably should have told you. Oh well. And yea I wanna see Extras too, I've only seen it when I was in Arizona and my friend made me watch some On Demand. It's hilarious.

Yeah... I think Vaidah told me about Azureus, but I don't like bloated java clients so I never bothered with it. Heh.

Rick Gervais is awesome. Extras is a fun show.

Azureus sucks because of the Javaness and the resource hogging. uTorrent does everything Azureus does without bogging down your computer.

Yeah, I see that. It's a neat little program. :) Under 1MB, too.

You have a sonic screwdriver and are getting a pair of Chuck Conner sneakers, if I understand correctly... Trying to replicate the 10th doctor's look? And if so, which version?

Hah! Well, I've always liked Converse All Stars (aka Chuck Taylors aka Chucks) and I had a pair ages ago. The new Doctor is just giving me an excuse to look into them again.

I'm thinking basic black or navy. Nothing fancy; something I can wear all the time. Also might get the off-white ones that he's wore several times.

You know, I might just do the same...

I actually found a clothier that replicates Tennant's suit for anyone...but it'll cost you $400. Not my price range, but I do need a few new suits... All I would need are a few Chuck Conners to go with it, and I'm good... Although I might just go a little bit crazy and get a pair with a flame motif on it...really make the ensemble a conversation piece.

You're putting shoes above Tennant? I am ASHAMED, madam.

I know! The shame.... -_-;;

But... new shoes would be more practical and the DVD sets aren't really going to get cheaper any time soon. But, shoes!

Anyway, if I can get myself a new job with more pay, I'll be able to buy the DVDs.
