Dec. 11th, 2006 11:09 pmWork was... long. Just an average day at the job, though.
During my shift at work, I sort of decided that the metric ton of spam I'm getting through my domain mail could be taken care of if I just dumped everything into another gmail account. I'm getting something like 50+ spam messages every day and it's really, really annoying.
That and apparently the owner of Interscot was busted for having kiddie porn on his computer this past March. The funny (well, not funny) thing is that the only reason they busted him was because someone else had taken his father's credit card for some other purpose. Another story reposrts that he was sentenced to community service.
So... I'm not like, saying astrumignis is going to disappear and it hasn't even so much as had any down time so far, but hey, you never know. (In fact, I am doing the e-mail transferring thing right now....)
After work, I met up with
queenmaab briefly as we both ran in to Target to do some last minute shopping. I, of course, had to stop at Joann's for some yarn. Okay, I just needed one thing of yarn, but some how came out with three. Erm... yeah.
Mom's laptop arrived today. The box is sort of stamped all over with "received in damaged condition," except I always thought stuff like that with delivery confirmation was supposed to get signed and accepted by someone. The box was just left be the door :-P Well, anyway, we fired it up and it works great! It's pretyt much in perfect condition and it boots up pretty quick. Got it all set up and configured, even installed AVG antivirus because I really do not feel like paying for another Norton account and the reviews for it are pretty good, so. *shrug* Anyway, it's spiffy and thanks to
dsw_777 for selling it to me! ^^
This evening,
seijitataki helped me setup our fake Christams tree :-P I used icicle lights. Heh.

Date: 2006-12-12 02:07 pm (UTC)I think "Recieved in Damage Condition" means the delivery guy just noted the box was damaged when he left it and if stuff is broken, tough luck. Like, hey, you knew it was damaged when you go it (except he left it an ran away so you couldn't refuse it).
Oh well. It works great anyway! ^^ Thanks again!

Date: 2006-12-12 02:07 pm (UTC)1. Stores with yarn in them have a magical ability to multiply your one or two needed skeins into far more than that. Sometimes they even get needles and notions and such involved, but I don't know how.
2. I've been using AVG for about four years now, and my dad has been using it for....uh...wow, a lot longer, and we've never had any trouble with viruses, be it email-based or otherwise. Combine that with ZoneAlarm and you have one tight machine. :)
