May. 9th, 2006 10:05 pmMy Threadless order came in today! *glee* I think I'll wear one to work on Friday.
Work was... busy. But that was good since the day practically flew by. Tomorrow will be more the same I suspect. On the plus side, I have Tominated one of my coworkers. W00t!
Speaking of the job, anyone in the Albany area looking for a job? We have... erm... a few openings and the boss is interviewing now. It's a decent place to work and the job is stress-free. Ad here.
Today's my mom's birthday, so on the way home I stopped and picked up a cake and some flowers. This is the first year I've actually had money to take my mom to dinner and get her a cake and stuff. She was really happy :)
I don't know if I'm going to Tulip Fest this year. I want to, but
queenmaab is going elsewhere and other people are occupied. *pout* Is anyone free?! They Might Be Giants, OK Go, The Churchills, ZOX! For freeee!
lilorphanannie: How's Sunday May 28th looking for you? Will e-mail later.
The characters of Battlestar Galatica, if they were to show up on The Simpsons. (link via

Bush wants fight over CIA choice. (That's the headline, I kid you not.) President hopes debate over Hayden's role in warrantless wiretaps will hurt Democrats, but some Republicans who usually back White House are balking
I am supportive of our troops overseas, really I am. Because they don't really have a choice about being they're and they're just doing their job. Duty. Whatever. But everytime I hear about something like this: The U.S. military said Sunday that the soldiers died while scouring remote Afghan mountains along the Pakistan border for al-Qaida and Taliban militants. The military said Friday's crash -- the deadliest for U.S. forces in Afghanistan in a year -- was not caused by hostile fire. I just have to shake my head. Can our soldiers please stop dying accidentally? From bad weather, or friendly fire, or mechanical failure. Please?
In other news: WB to Publish Films & Shows on BitTorrent: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group today announced a groundbreaking agreement with BitTorrent Inc. to leverage the company's peer-assisted delivery system for the electronic sell through of motion picture and television content in the United States. With this announcement, Warner Bros. becomes the first major studio to provide legal video content via the BitTorrent publishing platform.
And in case anyone on my flist has missed it:
slodwick is proposing David Hewlett is Awesome Week, wherein we all mail postcards to DH with the phrase, "David Hewlett how are you so awesome?" written on it. Go have a look and participate! Because teh Hewlett is awesome.

Date: 2006-05-10 04:07 am (UTC)And RE BitTorrent...I wanna say yay for embracing the awesome p2p technology that is BT instead of fighting it...but at the same time that means it's gonna get even more policed and make it more difficult to download stuff for free on BT. Balls. I need my free shit.

Date: 2006-05-10 10:52 am (UTC)No way, man. BT is too difficult to regulate, I think. It won't be as easy as what they did to Napster, etc, 'cause anyone can create a seed and then spread the link for leeching.
That's what I'm hoping at least. lol

Date: 2006-05-10 05:23 am (UTC)Oh no. BitTorrent will now become regulated. The genius behind new technology is that once it's made available someone finds a way to hack it.
Gotta love them $10 Threadless sales & happy birthday (and early mother's day) to mom :)

Date: 2006-05-10 10:51 am (UTC)I think BitTorrent is too wide a network to be overly regulated. Anyone can seed anything and as long as you have the hash, anyone can download it. So I doubt it will become too regulated. More than likely it's just a way to save them bandwidth :-P
